To schedule or not to schedule—one pooner's perspective
I'm usually a book in advance girl and rarely a last minute decision....When I worked in parlors, I always had to be ready at the drop of a hat and rush, rush, rush. So when I went independent, I think I rebelled against that [a lot], lol.
Always love the interesting issues you raise, Harmony.
I can appreciate why an SP would want to give her job some semblance of predictability, by scheduling clients the way lawyers, doctors or realtors do.
But personally I had to vote for "1 1/2 hrs tops" in your poll (though of course there have been, and probably will be, exceptions). Speaking for myself, and possibly a non-negligible percentage of pooners:
1. I hate to deal with scheduling issues at the best of times. But especially when it comes to my sex life I like to go with mood, spontaneity, spur-of-the moment impulse as much as possible.
2. Different men obviously deal differently with their sexuality. All I can say is that my desires manifest themselves with some urgency when they do.
3. In fact, sometimes I plan to see an SP and, while scanning the ads on DL or wherever, I find myself sidetracked by updates on my favorite porn sites—and waste another load jerking off. I feel glad, in those cases, that I haven't yet made any appointment.
4. The fact that Indies require scheduling—and in some cases, complicate things even further by asking for SP references or review board handles—is a major reason I've gone only to AMPs & micros in the recent past. (I also prefer to go to places with more than one SP because, if one lady is unavailable or doesn't appeal upon face-to-face meeting, another might be able to take over the job right then and there.)
5. Scheduling an erotic encounter reminds me of a love doctor's advice to busy working couples I once read: that they should schedule a fixed time for lovemaking. But doing this would make it another item on my "to do" list, an appointment that has to be kept, an onerous commitment and possible cause for worry.
6. Stuff comes up. For example, I'll never forget making an appointment with enchanting Holly Taylor—but then, unexpectedly, finding myself with a semi-estranged girlfriend wanting to stay the night before the appointment.
She wanted to have sex at night and in the morning, but I wasn't keen on firing the ammunition I had saved for the $$$ encounter with Holly. The massive blowup we had didn't put me in the best mood for facing Holly a few hours later, but I went through with it...
BUT THAT WAS THE LAST APPOINTMENT I MADE.
