I am soooo overjoyed today that my beloved Saskatchewan Roughriders won the 2025 Grey Cup last night.
I was born in Saskatoon and while raised in Winnipeg, being born into a Rider family is kind of like the mafia. Once you're in, you're in for life. Attended U of S and played for the Huskies, who by the way are in the Vanier Cup next weekend.
As someone who bleeds green we have had our share of heart break and disappointment over the years.
And the icing on the cake was winning it here is Winnipeg. On the home turf of our arch rivals.
Sooooooo happy today!
PS: Please do not comment on this thread if your gonna bash the CFL or say anything negative.
Cheers

Riders had a really good team this year. They beat my hometown Lions to get to the finals, though I will say that the Lions kind of muffed things more than necessary in that playoff game!

Congratulations on the Rider win!

Definitely a bit of mud in the eye knowing the Riders won the Grey Cup on my team's turf, but that's like a once a century kind of happening. Season's done, and now we can look forward to more football next season.

One of my best friends was lamenting the fact that the field was covered in green and white confetti and joking that they now need to replace the turf because it's been tainted. LOL!

I was glad to see the Riders win. Born and raised in Saskatchewan. I call it the Promised Land.

Watched the game with the batch of my old cronies I hung out with when I had the big house in the Cove. Less beer than in other years but the brisket, gumbo, cornbread and smoked beans plus multi layers of other smoked meats were outstanding as usual. We all commented that MKG was pretty good for the half time show. As the game was coming down to the wire we were all thinking, hell this is going to be like more than half the CFL games this year, decided by a field goal with no time left. But not this time. Yay Riders!

Good team and a good game. But you'd think they'd have a better placekicker considering it's importance to the average game. Why accept mediocre?

That's been a question asked by Rider fans all year long. And my one concern about the game was whether it was going to come down to Lauther either making or missing a FG. Glad it didn't but it almost did. I have a feeling that's the last we've seen of him in a Rider uniform.
