Well shoot… I was just thinking of hitting up a hot gal from Korean604 in a Richmond condo near mine, this very weekend. Should I abandon the plan? I’ve used Korean604 last year (also in Richmond) without incident fwiw.

k604 is not the only perb ad agency (s) who have offices in Richmond. I'm not sure how safe they are at this point?? But what do I know.

Its fucked they rather go after customers than scammers and actual pimps.
Absolutely spot on!! Those of us who have used perb for a few years, know and provide posts on incidences of scams.
All it would take is "Detective Dickhead" to make an appointment with a scammer and bust them at the appropriate time.

Hell, maybe we could encourage them to go after bait and switch providers for "fraudulent misrepresentation "!! 😆 🤣

@the Meat Market!!!lol
Hi everyone — I want to offer a bit of clarity here because I know this situation has people concerned.

First, based on what we know, this operation involved undercover police posting ads and communicating online — not targeting or working through established, well-known providers or businesses.

So if you are engaging with known, reputable providers or locations, that is a very different situation than responding to random or newly posted ads. This was police activity, not a reflection of the safety of established businesses.

From the information released:
  • Police were posing as sex workers online
  • They communicated with over 100 people in one day
  • Their stated goal was to:
    • reduce demand
    • identify potential exploitation
So this was not connected to real workers or real ads — it was entirely police-run.

I’ve been in direct communication with RCMP about this.
  • Their position is that they are trying to identify exploitation and protect vulnerable people (including youth)
  • I’ve been very clear that:
    • this kind of enforcement has broader impacts
    • it can undermine safety and income stability for sex workers
    • and that matters because people rely on this work to feed and house themselves and their families
We agree on one thing: exploitation and violence need to be addressed

Where we differ is how to do that without causing harm to others in the process.
  • This operation was police-run online activity, not targeting through established providers
  • Well-known, reputable services are not what this was about
  • There is ongoing discussion about how to:
    • address exploitation
    • without compromising safety or livelihoods
If people have concerns, happy to answer what I can — but I wanted to make sure there’s info to help people understand what's happening.

I’m all for decriminalizing but not for legalizing.

Check out all the countries that have legalized prostitution and the quality of life of the sex workers there. No thank you. I want to work out of my home with my rules. I do not want to be regulated or forced into a red light district. Legalizing also makes criminals out of survival sex workers as they might not be able to pay for licensing and all the other things that might be involved in a legal business.

But decriminalizing, yes please. Just take your laws off my body. Period.

There are already laws around abuse and trafficking. Legalizing it, I don’t think would make much of a difference in how shady, manipulative evil people operate.

I dunno. Seems to me if LE wants to cut into potential human trafficking and other undesirable aspects of the sex trade industry they will get more mileage by curbing the demand as opposed to the supply.

Laws of supply and demand says cutting the supply without similarly impacting the demand means cost of supply goes up. Cut the demand and supply has to adjust either by reducing costs or supply i.e. go somewhere else to ply their trade.

No way that the agencies are being targeted since you're calling or texting a number you know, that is on their respective websites. How can you be chatting with LE in that case? Doesn't make sense. All the agencies that have locations in Richmond are fine.

All they have to do is catch the guy holding the phone and start responding to messages

Sure, but in the history of BC, this has never happened, so these are just little made-up fantasies. The fact is, the police create fake ads to lure people in, so stick to SPs with good reputations, and you have nothing to worry about.

Hmm." this never has happened" and "they are just little made-up fantasies"? That logic is flawed on so many levels. Let's not forget Water Cube and other "raids' that have happened in the past which puts everyone in an precarious situation: https://vancouver.citynews.ca/2024/02/13/richmond-massage-parlours-raids-swan/

There was a good show about how law enforcement in the states runs dirty stings. Last week tonight with John Oliver
Yes it was about the US but police here are no different. They entrap (entice) people who had no criminal history and their only care is making sensationalized arrests that look good in front of the cameras. What I would be afraid of is them having dirt ( leverage) on a well known amp and basically blackmailing them to cooperate with LE to avoid charges. The other angle would be a LL add that sounds too good to be true

It appears that many have never researched the Laws surrounding Prostitution.
Many providers seem to operate without knowing them.
Some here understand them better than others.

I recommend that anyone who engages in this activity should research and, at the very least, gain some knowledge of the laws related to the activity.

here is a link to some good general information: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostitution_in_Canada
(Mods please remove above line if not allowed)

Search Wikis' , visit the Can Justice and Gov sites to read the criminal code and case law.

Law enforcement can even sting against well known SPs, however it comes down to resource and money.
It is easier and cheaper to focus on rub houses.

elections aren't too far away and Kash Heed no doubt wants to show everyone that he is a tough on sex crime guy. Too bad he lets all the crime groups operate private escort sites in almost every new apartment building in Richmond but chooses to pick on soft targets.
u mean getting rid of the competition....

This explains why Swan Lake was completely empty at 2pm last Saturday. I was expecting a full house and being able to hear all the lovely swans being plowed in other rooms but it was just me and Ocean. She said there were no customers at all.

It is unfortunate this kind of operation hurts the business of operations like SL.
