Gohan West Coast Japanese Restaurant in Burnaby on Rosser Ave between Lougheed Hwy and Halifax St., behind the Shark Club.
For starters a little bowl of miso soup. Very tasty.
Followed up with shared appies of spicy garlic calamari and salmon gyoza. Calamari was spectacular, great dipping sauce. Gyoza wasn't "salmony" enough (is that even a fucking word?) but still pretty good. Next time I'll try the seafood and papaya spring rolls in place of the gyoza.
Next came a couple of shared tempura skewers with prawns, salmon, and scallops, with tempura veggies on the side and three dipping sauces. YUMMY.
A couple pieces each of tuna and sockeye salmon sushi. Not too much rice, just how I like it.
Split dynamite, spider (soft shell crab), and spicy scallop (special order) rolls. KILLER.
All washed down with a "few" Kirin beers.
Service was excellent but had to ask for more wasabe. Value? EXCELLENT, someone else paid. Repeat? Absolutely, it's near home.
