I am thinking of a career change or learning new skills. What resources (e.g. websites, books, cources,etc...) do people recommend for learning to build smartphone (mobile) apps and/or smartphone (mobile) websites. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You're not going to find anything constructive online. Take a computer course. That's what I did....

BCIT has good program for this. Take it part time and one course per term if you are working full time.
