Replying to private messages

Do they normally not show up in "sent messages" folder? I've sent a few replies, but not sure if they actually go thru. In my inbox, the original PM I received has a envelope icon with green arrow under it, I assume it means that I've sent a reply?

Check the setting in your profile - I think it is off by default (Don't save sent messages).
Click on Private Messages (on the menu bar)
Click on General Settings under My Account (left hand column)
Scroll down to the Private Messaging section (last item)

There is a setting that controls this. When you send a message, you'll see this at the bottom of the page:

To change the default, go to http://perb.cc/vbulletin/profile.php?do=editoptions and set as:

Note that the Sent messages also count towards your total, so once you hit 40 messages (Inbox + Sent), no one can send you PM anymore.
