I got knocked out senseless on Thursday morning when I got out of bed. Why was I so dizzy? I managed to make it to the washroom and empty out my bladder, but then I got disorientated and took a few steps back without flushing or zipping up and everything faded to white. Next thing I know, I collapse to the floor fainted away.

I don't know how long I was out but I was drenched in sweat. Managed to crawl back to bed, but I was weak as a baby. Bed-ridden for two days and letting loose nothing but water stools. All fluids and food I took didn't convert to urine, but went out the backside. The darkest moments were trips to the bathroom every 10-15 minutes in 24 hours.

Fast forward to today and I'm almost recovered, but unfortunately I've lost 15 pounds. :( :( :( :( :( I've never suffered such a severe bout of flu before.

I need some advice. How do I regain these lost pounds? Some friends have told me my body will slowly regain these pounds over time as long as I drink lots of water and eat normally as before. Others have said eat lots of eggs and meat.

Most lilkely it is all fluids. So keep your water in take up and go back to normal eating habits when you fell up to it. I would estimate your weight will adjust back to normal in about two weeks.

Symptoms sound like food poisonin

Your symtoms sound like food poisoning more than flu. I travel 300 days per year and it has happened to me twice. think where you ate and what it was will probably come back to memory

Your weight will come back gradually

Usually at the point where you were so bad that you were passing out you should have gone to your doctor (or the hospital) and gotten IV fluids.

But, since you are feeling better now... Here's some non-specific general information.

Gatoraide or something similar is designed to restore fluids and electrolytes. Pedialyte is also good (but not so tasty).

As far as the weight loss, most of it is water and rebuilding your body's stores of carbs will cause your body to 'soak up' about 10 lbs of water back.

Dude, aren't you the guy who posted about having a bleeding anus and then having an HIV test that went positive (then a subsequent one that went negative)? Aren't you also the one with the serious excema/psoriasis problem?

If so, you gotta look after yourself better man.

I lost nine pounds myself. I could get dizzy and feel weak. It lasted about three weeks for myself. The fourth week was still weak but I was gaining strength.

Thanks for all the advice. No GBM, you're wrong on count 1.

The very last meal I ate before I went to bed was a can of Pepsi from Safeway three hours before...

Unfortunately I'm still releasing "slurries", so it's off to the family doctor tomorrow to see what medicines can take care of the bacteria/amoebae in my intestinal tract.

However after some though, I believe this is the culprit, which I ate after dinner:
