Red Light District in Vancouver

the city of vancouver has been working on these questions for years. there will be no red light district.

Legal brothel in red light districts where sex trade is legal like germany can hire body guards. The current law doesn't allow body guards and they can be punished under Bill C-36 if they provide their services in the context of commercial enterprise offering sexual services for a consideration.

It's a case of "not in my backyard". People are petitioning to have the city of Vancouver create a red light district for sex workers on the street. But where? And would this contain workers? I can't imagine everyone staying in the same spot. Thoughts?[/I]

the vpd have stated publicly that they will not be applying the new laws here in the city. this project is specific to vancouver and as such the federal regulations don't really have an impact
