I don't know if you have noticed that the US is pretty much a police state. Prostitution is largely illegal and participating is not worth the risk, in my humble opinion.

This. Was last there a couple of years ago. They are quite active in suppressing prostitution. Any bar should be able to get you laid by a tourist, though.
