All free apps...
I don't play many games, but Super Stickman Golf is great, kills hours and hours.
For Ringtones and wallpaper check out Zedge.
Shazam is good to identify any music playing and gives links to youtube to watch the video (also links to Amazon if you want to buy the music...I prefer free downloads)
Pulse is pretty cool for news...set your preferred news/entertainment/sports/lifestyle magazines on your custom menu and browse different stories...you can choose to read only the ones you want.
Just got started with Evernote...links with your home computer/tablet/phone/facebook any tasks or reminders to get you through the day...works great using your camera as well...haven't had too much time to explore it in depth, but looks useful
Any.do is a very good to-do list with reminders
QRDroid is a great scanner that will link you to the item being scanned's website, also lets you create your own QR
TuneIn Radio lets you listen to radio stations from around the world...also pick stations by theme (funk, reggae, easy listening)
GoogleSky is awesome if you want to know what that bright star below the moon is (it's Venus)
Also after reading and being entertained by your posts I would suggest my number 1 app for you...drumroll...
Google Translate...no more awkward moments when ordering a coffee or picking up your drycleaning or getting a massage...
"You want me to do What to your What???"
Enjoy your Android.
