Reason for decline in service, (perceived or real)?

I was reading the "losing interest" thread and posted a reply to marlowemj's post about Kimi's service level. I started to think about whether there is a decline in the quality of service or if it is just a perception. Also, what would be the root cause or causes of this.

One thought I had.... Is the reduction of service, perceived or real, tied to the popularization of Backpages/Craigslist etc? If I harken back to the heyday of about 5+ years ago that many here are pining for, the main source that I had for sourcing SP's was EC - Escorts Canada. There is a cost to the SP's for joining, pictures are verified to certain extent I believe, the ads run for a month at least and the site only exists for that purpose. We all knew that Uptown magazine was a cesspool, so the veteran pooner tended to stay away and most reviews I read were about SP's advertising on EC.

BP and CL are free. Any scammer or legit SP can post. No verification required. Ads change daily (or hourly for Chrissy). A very low barrier to entry. There is a combination of legit and scams. Kimi is on there from VIPOTG (legit), as well as "Bailey" (the one that robs clients). A larger overall pool to draw from, but a potentially shallower gene pool.

I admit that I watch BP like a VLT - refresh to see if anything new or exciting is on. We see a hot picture, a great price, little head takes over and suddenly there is a real negative experience. The good SP's get less calls as the greater number of available SP's dilutes their customer base, they move on to greener pastures.

I am curious to see if anyone concurs with this thought, disagrees or has any other theories.

I would agree that backpage and craigslist have created a shift in the industry, which basically gives street level prostitutes access to a much wider market. It has enabled even the most marginal of providers access to any pooner that has the internet at their disposal. Why stand on a frozen street corner waiting for a small population of johns to drive past, when you can wait inside and have clients text you to make an appointment. Furthermore, it takes no effort or ambition to place an ad on backpage, while it actually takes some initiative to endure standing outside in the street dodging vice cops and hoping to latch onto a john. This may be why we see so many flakes advertizing themselves as providers. The lure of easy and quick money, no work ethic required, is a sure temptation for some party girls. However party girls do not generally make for reliable service providers; they want the quick cash out, and then run off to the night club with their friends as soon as they can.

A secondary consideration is the proliferation of methamphetamine and oxycontin as common street drugs these days. This shit wrecks lives, and it is a common element amongst a surprising number of ladies that advertize on bp and that are plying the trade in Winnipeg today. Yes, in past days, cocaine was the scourge. However, I suppose that the availability and popularity of these two street drugs are contributing to the number of women that are turning to sex work to support their substance problem.

Erslist is suppose to be coming here next month do you think there will be a shift to advertising there? It seems like like the Western ladies prefer it to EC?

Whether free or chargeable, bp gives providers a lot of flexibility in posting, removing and reposting ads. Plus, more people are aware of backpage and craigs than they would be of escorts-canada. In any event, its lower the barrier to entry and therefore contributed to the situation we're speaking about.

What alot of these new girls don't realize is good service equates to repeat customers with quality customers,there's very few mandys,brookes,kerrys,& candys,left in the game,I doubt WPG area will ever see that level of service again.

I could not agree more . I had read that one member had made an arrangement with a single a mother who needed the cash . This sound much better than the situation of to day

Good point about meth and oxy XMY556. Add the gangs that run those drugs and sell them to the girls and the problem compounds.
This does mean that there is gaping hole for an entrepreneurial agency to fill (pardon the pun). If there was a local, trustworthy agency a la VIPOTG, GOE, BL etc, they could clean up as it would be the place pooners could trust. I use agencies almost exclusively when I travel, and look how well the out of town agencies do here now.

The bp ad that says VOTED WPGS BEST AGENCY is in itself an oxymoron; these four words have NEVER gone well together.

On another note, I would say that generally locally speaking, the service has declined. I have been enjoying the touring ladies of late. No regrets.....yet. If there were any, I would tell you here.

That's part of the reason why I have been seeing less and less SP's. My friend does everything I want her to do in the bedroom, and I get BBFS with her as well. Can't beat that...
