I don't think much of this idea, for the reasons you give. I think the porn film companies tried going the condom route but soon abandoned the idea. I was watching that series Porn Valley & they sort of discussed it and I think one girl only does girl-on-girl because of it. Of course they all get frequent testing done and work with the same people all the time too, from what I could see, so they reduce their risk as much as possible. I don't see that happening with what you are describing.
I bet they screen the same way -- somebody looks at a sheet, ticks them off if the dates match, and arranges with their agents where and when to show up. The only difference is that its much cheaper to film with the "reality" look and the costs are lower all around.
