the Tyson-Paul "'boxing" match generated large crowds in the various pubs.I don't know how many (or if any) charged admission.
by all accounts it didn't bring back memories of Ali-Frazier.
the House of Jerry Jones somehow seems appropriate for a circus.

NFL Game of the Week, imo,is Bills-Chiefs Sunday avvo.I think the undefeated streak ends here.altho' they're 9-0 none of those wins have been easy.
seems like KC just finds a way to win, like good teams do,but probably not tomorrow?
I read something interesting...in recent yrs the Bills are 3-0 vs Chiefs in the regular season but 0-3 in the playoffs!
one thing for sure ..it'll have even more excitement than Tyson vs Paul!

Grey Cup tomorrow, Wpg heavy favs but the GC is no stranger to upsets.Seeing lots of CFL jerseys as fans arrive from across the country.
hope it's a good game and Wpg is Winnerpeg.

thoughts on these and more?
Never heard of this guy Paul before all the hype. I get it that he made money is big and fit so hired a multitude of trainers etc to learn how to box. Hey, more power to him to be able to take all the shortcuts.
NFL, glad to see Detroit finally getting it all together to be a winner. Way too long at the bottom of the league. Now if the Raiders and Dolphins can just do the same ...
Getting ready to head over to my buddy Jake's place out in Mission for the game. He hosts about 20 of us every year. Major meat consumption about to happen with his smokers, wood, charcoal and gas grills. He started the brisket at midnight 20lbs!! -- yum.
MLS has me without a fav team so I guess its go Seattle.
Raptors in the toilet but I have always been a Timberwolves fan, not sure why, must have decided that a long time ago pre Grizzlies.
How about that dirty hit last night on Oilers Nurse. Not the first time that fucker has done this. Back to that thing about the suspension should be the same as the injury time, but maybe it should be double or triple.
Ah, November, team sports fans rejoice.

fine weekend of sports...one more comment on Jake Paul...he's strong and athletic, obviously, and has picked up some boxing skill, but I wouldn't like his chances against a top ten heavyweight.
Canucks continue to be inconsistent at home while being road warriors
Reaves got 5 games I believe for the hit on Nurse..brought back memories of Scott Stevens

Grey Cup upsets add another to the list as Argos do a 4th quarter stomp on Bombers.I wonder if Wpg might move on whoever B.C. doesn't sign, Adams or Rourke?
Not surprised to see Bills end KC's unbeaten run...9-0 record didn't indicate that every game was in doubt til late.
I have to wonder....how did the 9-1 Lions(Detroit version) ever lose to TBay at Home! earlier this season?NFC North will probably have 2 wild card teams that will be a tough opponent.
NFC West couldn't be tighter after the Seahawks upset 49ers in Santa Clara.Someone will win the division, get a home playoff date...and face a tough wild card team.

wondering what others thought about a hectic weekend?

The streaker in the 4th Qtr at the Grey Cup was the highlight. Lol. Bombers didn’t play cup-worthy football. Argos did.

Usually Chiefs D wins gains if their O can score. 3TD passes earned, so the D not stopping Allen on a few drives took the W.

Gino pulls one out! That was fun.

Lions—yup, I wanna see them in some more tough match-ups. Pretty dominant performances when they are stomping a weaker team. See if their O-line and D can prevail later season / playoffs when the chips are down. Gonna be great watching.

Is that what happened? My attention was away from the broadcast, and then the announcers were just saying that some incident happened which they were not going to replay.

Plenty of videos of her online. She was running on the field, somehow tripped and fell down, got up and kept going. The security people didn’t seem overly concerned about her, waited until she got to the end zone and escorted her off the field.

Yup. It happened.

Starkers with big ‘ol bouncing boobies.

Quite unexpected. Made it half way across the field. Stumbled and fell. Picked herself up and jogged to the endzone where a couple of Vancouver's finest escorted her off field.

I hope she won some bets or dare points or something.

Brought levity to a bit of a blowout at the right moment. Had to be there to see it.

It's not exactly random, but Vancouver Whitecaps coach Manni Sartini has been fired today

hired to be fired seems to be the mantra in pro sports
I don't follow the Whitecaps closely but I thought they had a reasonable season?

I just saw the Lions traded VA to Calgary for a 2nd round draft pickthere's also later round picks back and forth.
doesn't seem like much return but teams know B.C. has to shed salary so not dealing from strength.
Lions would've probably preferred to deal with a team from the East but again, not in a strong position?

Well, the CFL does not have many teams; it is possible to have a career where you end up playing for every franchise.

US Thxgiving always a busy time for sports

not one NHL game on Thursday but damn near every team in action Friday.
Canucks continue to be one of the best road teams, something like 9-2 away record?now Hronek is added to the IL, shoulder separation I believe?the Miller
situation is gaining momentum re social media speculation, no shortage of opinions with no substance
Ed Willes wrote yrs ago that restless Canucks fans were like "a troop of monkeys when a predator is near"...pure f....g gold, lol.

Just when I thought Detroit Lions looked invincible they almost blew a huge half-time lead vs Chicago Bears.Lions will host GB Packers and Buffalo in next 2 weeks,
both s/b appointment viewing.

Chiefs now 11-1, yet continue to look vulnerable.None of those 11 wins were easy and they could very well be 8-4 or 7-5 with a bounce or two.

I don't follow it closely but seems like Liverpool is well in front of the pack in pome soccer. The staff in my fav pub in Bkk all rock Liverpool jerseys yr-round.
Thais are mad about soccer, esp. Liverpool and Man U.

Feel free to throw in comments, opinions, etc.

NFL ends regular season this weekend.
Detroit vs Minnesota rates as one of the top games of the season.
Both teams 14-2..winner gets #1seed and home field thru the playoffs..loser gets wild card and plane rides.
A 14-3 wild card !
At 15-1 Chiefs are understandably resting starters.
Had they not lost to Buffalo and were16-0 I can imagine the different opinions on resting or going for perfection.
Pretty sure the players would want to go for it but Reid would still do like he's doing now.
Final positioning will be in place soon
Does anyone have predictions?

Wild Card NFL this wkend.
I'm going with home teams except picking Vikings over Rams and Chargers over Houston.
Packers-Eagles s/b best game, and Ravens-Steelers have long rivalry and always a great game.

Any more thoughts/predictions?

I was 3 out of 6 wild card weekend..not great.
For division round I'll take Detroit over Washington and, maybe going with my heart,Rams to upset Eagles.

AFC..Chiefs won 15 games but about 11 or 12 were one-score didn't do well covering point spreads.
Stars haven't played since Xmas Day so might have so.e rust to shake?
Still, they're champs until someone beats them and I don't think that happens this week.

Ravens-Bills is one of the games of the season.
Might be de facto AFC title game as I think either one can beat KC.
Toss a coin but I will go with the Bills.

Enjoy the games!

I've tried this before without much traction but wtf let's have a go at various sports items

I won't mention World Series as it's in another thread but...here's a few thoughts..

KC Chiefs last 6 seasons...6 AFC title games, 4 victories so 4 SB appearances 3 SB championships...does that make a dynasty?
Will Ovechkin pass Gretzky for most goals?this season?
can Oilers or Canucks get the Holy Grail this season?
can VA lead the Lions to the Grey Cup?

there are many other topics available.

what do you think of my suggestions and what are yours?
Definitely, 3 championships in 5-7 years in the NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, or any major soccer league is a dynasty

I was surprised Washington handed Detroit a significant loss. All else NFL was expected. Mahones still the guy to beat as far as I can tell.

NHL that mid season thing going on, injuries and trade rumours all in play. As a general comment, I am constantly amazed at the overall speed and skill level of the present day game. I am thinking the intensity will start to heat up as the contenders start prepping for playoff hockey.

Onto the Australian Open
Some of the volleys are off the chart. Both men and women. Not that I am any kind of tennis aficionado. But oo wee, entertaining or what.
Love that desperation reverse spin the Italian guy laid on the American in last night's match.
And it was good to see Brad Shelton call out the asshole broadcasters for their shit comments interviewing him. I have always felt that a "why don't you go fuck yourself" would be such a delight for any athlete to say to some of these hacks they have doing interviews.

It was a bit of a surprise, but Washington has a good D and the Lion's O-line still needs a bit of improvement.

I think Goff got a little panicky as well. His replacement (Stafford) already has a SB and showed why he got it as the Rams played pretty damn solid in a losing effort in their game.

I was 2-2 last week though I doubt I was alone in picking Detroit.
Feel-good stories for the 4 remaining teams
Washington..Cinderella!
Buffalo..1st SB!
KC..3-peat! Further cement the dynasty
Philly..reward their wonderful fans...err,maybe pause that,lol.

Keep it short..going with Eagles and Chiefs.

Thoughts?

I did not think Philly would stomp Washington, expected KC to win.
Not sure what the Eagles will do to stop a 3 peat.
