lots happening in the world of sports....

Awesome coming out party for Jonathon Jennings the other night, throws 4 TD passes, catches another, scrambles on broken plays and puts some excitement
into the dome,(which was strangely closed on a beautiful fall afternoon)

True,he wasn't facing the '85 Bears D of Buddy Ryan but impressive all the same.

The offensive line opened holes allowing Andrew Harris to rush for 100 yards, putting a smile on his face,at least until the next game, and the defence was solid.
It'll be interesting to see if the Leos have turned a corner.

Raffi Torres gets a 41 game suspension for his latest transgression.I imgine the NHLPA will appeal but something has to be done with this guy.
I think it's his 8th suspension?does the league need this guy?

Repetitive behavior of another sort....Zack Kassian in a car accident at 6am with 2 females, aged 18 and 20.Somehow I don't think they were on their way to
early morning mass.
NHL has put him into a substance-abuse program. He's still young enough to turn his life around....IF he wants to.

If you need a reminder of the transient nature of sports consider this...the 2013 Super Bowl participants, Ravens&49ers,are a combined 2-6,and the 2013 Grey Cup champs,Regina
are 2-12
Still with the NFL, do the Seahawks seem a bit less then overpowering so far this season? They beat Detroit with the help of an iffy call.Last year the outcome would have been decided by halftime.

Baseball playoffs underway.Tonight's Cubs-Pirates tilt might be the best game of the post-season.Neither team deserves to be one&done.

NHL kicks off tonight, will be interesting to see how the young Canucks perform now that it's for real.this is probably the youngest 'Nucks team in years, hope they do well in a tough division.

Finally, a bit of trivia....who can name a franchise that won a major trophy in 3 different cities?if nobody answers correctly I'll post it tomorrow.

Hope there's some feedback, argument, etc on these items.

Two things about the shithawks game:

How do you become a kick returner in the NFL and not know the rules? A muff into the endzone can be recovered for a touchback, no problem. Instead, at a crucial point in the game, Winnipeg's own T.J. Jones tries to run the ball back out of the endzone, gets crushed at the 12 and sets the crowd on fire. Stafford should have punched him on the way onto the field.

They overcame that to drive for the go-ahead score, and Megatron fucked up at the goal line. Bad enough in itself, but for the Back Judge to be looking directly at the play as the defender bats it out of bounds.... Nothing worse than a bad BJ

O.K. three things; Cam Chancellor has shown how important he is, but where the hell does he go from here? Another holdout? Demand a trade? Stew about it?
Can't wait to see this team implode. Not just because of XLVIII, it goes back way farther than that.

Venting completed. Thank you.

Boston, Milwaukee, and Atlanta braves.

I did not need Google, etc, as I had just been reminded of that fact in a recent book I read.
I had a feeling you would be first with the answer!

if only Arrietta(sp?)could pitch every day, the Cubs would lift the curse this year, lol.he'll be available for Game 3 vs the Cards so it won't be a sweep.

it's a small sample but Sutter looked gd with the twins tonight in Calgary.
