Here’s my last chance to say bye to another PERBert whose time has come and gone too fast . I enjoyed reading your many posts. I was impressed with the amount of information that you were able to provide, especially to the people who were able to correctly post their queries in the 411 section. I’ll miss your humour, your constant nagging about threads being posted in the wrong forum, and the way you berated some people with your biting sarcasm. Say what you want, but I think every forum does need someone like you to help keep things rolling along, whether it’s calling out a shill or improper posting habits of fellow PERBerts.

So - this is PERB, right? That means we have to have a dissenting opinion (MH wouldn't have it any other way, now would he?). I for one am GLAD he's gone. A slagger at the drop of a hat, in the most gratuitous way (check the word out in a good dictionary, Mike - like other words about which I have educated you). Yes, not a bad sense of humour, but we all have that, when inspired. Oh well .......

Actually, his politics were all wrong, (just like he would say mine were all wrong) but he was very helpful with PM intel.
A lot of his gruffness was just a pose.

I'd be lying through my teeth if I said I'd miss him. Not that I haven't lied through my teeth in the past, mind. Just not about anything quite as insignificant as someone "retiring" from perb.

I will miss his humour

Sure he provided some good info but I will miss the comic releif he provided. I often would laugh out loud at a post he made. Many times I would also laugh out loud at a post I was about to make only to scroll down and find he'd already made it.

He's retiring, at least for a while, and he's off PERB to reduce the temptation to unretire.
