in the NHL, they had three goalies...name them
I just noticed you slipped this question in.

The original goalies for the NHL Canucks were Hodge, Wilson and Gardner.

Now who was the famous former hockey TV (radio too)personality who would have been half owner of the Canucks under their initial bid for expansion in 1967?
The original bid to expand to Vancouver had a strong Toronto flavour to it.

When the NHL announced plans to double in size from six to 12 teams in 1965, it was felt that Vancouver would be a shoo-in if it had an NHL size arena.

Toronto Maple Leafs' owner Stafford Smythe tried to build a 20,000-seat downtown arena.

Meanwhile Cyrus McLean teamed with the great Foster Hewitt to bring the NHL to Vancouver.

Their bid failed because of Vancouver's inability to get that new Arena built.

Smythe had wanted the the city to provide the $6.5 million piece of land for the rink, a concession which was defeated by Vancouver residents in a referendum.

Then the city, lead by Mayor Fred Hume, tried to build a $12 million arena on public funds, but failed to get the necessary help from the provincial government and the deal fell through.

Without having a suitable arena to begin play in the fall of 1967, Vancouver's NHL bid was indeed rejected.

And Foster Hewitt's bid to be a NHL owner died.
