i understand the majority of the people are probably just looking for a good time but isn't it scary opening the door to strangers? You never know whos on the other side. Or is that just a risk you take as a sp.

I think that is a valid reason to maybe work in a MP, security cameras at the door, another person at the front desk.

What about old days when we used to call up an escort service-
it was always scary opening the door and seeing what she looked
like. I know its hard to believe but the phone descriptions weren't always
accurate. So I think it works both ways

True and a girl could steal from you, etc.

I think he was talking about the violent risk we take by letting strangers into our in calls. Which does happen. There are steps you can do to keep yourself safe, but there is always the randon factor.

I have great spidey senses and use them carefully when talking on the phone.

How you deal with people makes all the difference. I had someone once show up totally high and sketchy. I had no problem dealing with him. If the first thing you do is care about the person, you will do things that make them feel safe and things will never likely escalate. It's true you can never know, but you also can react in ways that help the situation go smoothly. Your fear is your worst enemy.
Well said Nina, and great advice.

So, at the risk of sounding naive, is it common-place for a client to send a picture of himself to the SP before their initial session?

Personally, I'd have no problem doing it; seems like it would level the playing field a bit.

Having worked in all areas, MP, Agency, Indy, I have to say the most dangerous would be an agency. Knowing your instincts and trusting yourself is key, but after my best friend got murdered on a call last year, things have changed a bit, which is why I've gone indy part time. Especially being a petite girl but (knock on wood), my instincts haven't failed me yet. Not to mention being assertive and taking control intimidates them somewhat.

An agency owner, some of you may remember him, Larry Flynt had his drivers actually go with the girl to the call initially and let the client know there was indeed a man waiting for her, as quite often they don't believe us and say we drove ourselves.

Working in massage isn't always safe, either. A girlfriend of mine recently got her lip split from a client that tried to take off. Everything happened so fast but she got her punches in too.

a lady i knew had pretty much the same opinion,
her friend was raped, and the agency sent her to the same address the next day.

it was a house under construction, so the guy was never caught,
but the agency screwed up, sending her on the call.
she trust only herself now her own instincts.

this is why i have the greatest respect for you ladies to be honest with you.
and what ever you charge, sometimes it must not ever be enough.
the stories you could tell.

Yea it has got to be kind of scary... espically going to an out-call from someone who don't know from perb or never seen before - craigslist surfer. I think every SP should have someone that they can trust near them.

Ex. A driver. Have him/she wait down in the vechicle or come back and pick you up and for you to call him/her like 10-15 mins over the time for your own saftey. Because what if it did turned out something bad? No-one would know about it but with a driver he/she could go up and check out whats going on and or call the cops.

But twist the question around. My cousin was shocked that I told him that I went to an escort that I saw on CL. He wasn't shocked that I went to an escort to get a GFE because we ARE men :D ;). He was shocked that because of my age he said "your fucked. What if it wasn't a girl, what if it was a set up, steal your money and or injure you kind of thing." Couldve pulled a gun or something.

Im so glad that I have found someone who is awesome in every way! and that I came across this review board. It gives all of us a chance to see how everyone is and who to avoide. I couldn't imagine how everyone would be like without any review boards.
