Question from a newbie

Hey all,

I'm a visitor to Edmonton and Canada. I've been lurking a few days here and getting a feel for the hobby here. I understand that the hobby here focuses mainly on MPs rather than agencies/indies doing incalls/outcalls. That seemed reasonable until you take into account the laws here. Back in the states, with a few exceptions, it's illegal whichever way you look at it. Here though, I understand that an independent escort who does outcalls only is perfectly legal since that does not involve an agent who benefits financially from the avails of an escort and there is not a house involved that incall sessions are being conducted.

First, why is the focus more on MPs rather than indies, since MPs fall under questionable legality while an independant does not?

Second, why are the rates here for the few indies that I can find equal or higher than back in the States, the risk of legal problems do not exist here, so you would think the rates would be slightly lower?

Its easier for the girls to be in a MP, I belive its cheaper license wise (could be wrong) also safer from the girls persective.
Its expensive here because some of us have more money then we should, oil or whatever.
Behind closed doors anything two adults do is perfectly legal, its communicating in public which is the problem I belive.
You shouldent spend more then 200 for FS (maybe 220 at a top MP) and no more then 240ish for a TOP GIRL who has GREAT reviews. Though thats also because FS in a MP is allways supposed to be a 1 hour session, where in other places they offer 30 minute FS sessions that arent crap.

It has to do with the way the industry evolved in Edmonton. The escort agencies are actually a near monopoly run by two individuals. Therefore, a complete rip-off. The MPs however, are independently owned and thus free enterprise reigns supreme with better pricing and better girls.

I believe the police have taken the reasonable attitude that they would rather have the girls in the MPs instead of out on the street. Unless drugs or some other illegal activity becomes prevalent, they pretty much leave them alone.

The independents cost a little more because they still cost less than the agencies but will come to your abode. Thus, a good option if a guy doesn't want to go into a parlour.

I've said before and I'll keep saying it. As long as you stay away from the agencies and the street, your opportunities for good vfm will be pretty good.

The info about the agencies really puts it in perspective, yet...I don't understand what would prevent another agency to go into business...it's not as though this business is high capital entry industry.

As for the MPs, everything sounds reasonable..except that with the capacity I am here in, I am wary about being seen walkng into one.

Another question is, are the stated prices include the room fees advertised on the MP's sites?

FS should be more more then 220 WITH ROOM fee, or 200 with room fee, and thats even if you had a hot tub or body shampoo.
Any girl who wants more is ripping you off.
Most MPs have back enterences and are located in strip mall type areas, so the chances of anyone seeing you are almost none.
