A good friend of mine called me up last night very distraught.
His wife is a shopaholic who has been going for treatment, etc... for a year now. She had promised him that her compulsive shopping which almost put them into bankrupcy had stopped. Things seemed to be doing okay until he discovered last night she had secretely gone out and gotten a Mastercard and run up a bill to over $10 K. He hadn't noticed anything because alot of it was on EBay and small jewelrey items which she has alot of from her earlier days. As he said last night, she has 100 gold chains, how was I to notice she now has 105.
He would confront her but he is nervous because of how he found out. They are in the process of getting some estimates on having their house remodelled. I guess one of the contractors sent an estimate to her e-mail. He, without her permission, went into her e-mail to look at it. When in her e-mail he noticed alot of communications from EBay and their sellers and that's how he found out.
Thus his dilemma is confronting her but having to admit he breached her trust by going into her e-mail, albeit not to spy but to get an estimate on their home renovations.
What would you think if you were the wife?
