I have messaged 3 lady's thru contact me on Leolist , 56,40,43 years old
Im 63 , am I to old now ?
I have not had one reply of Sorry or not interested.
Is this the norm ? or am i reading into this to much .
I could see it if I was contacting a 20 YO , but many don't think I look over 60 , and they are surprised when I tell them my age.

Looking in the wrong place ?? I have sent 3 contact me messages in 2 weeks .

Another question on a side note , do you first meet up for say a lunch and see if there is attraction or a repulse ?
Never been there

TIA folks
VT

Given the ages of the ladies in question I very much doubt your age is of concern. LL is known for its share of non-responsive providers so you may well be looking in the wrong place.

This could be a problem. Many providers don't even check "contact me" messages on leolist. Don't the ads indicate their contact preference? Texting is popular (maybe not for this age group), possibly calling or email.

You are definitely not too old. There are plenty of providers in their 20s who'd see you (and at least reply you if they are not comfortable). If you can find somebody who's well reviewed on PERB, you increase your chances.

Using the email provided on LL doesn't work half the time.
I believe....and the ladies can correct me if I'm wrong.....that it is a requirement to advertise there, and most won't check it unless it is their only contact info....and then they are usually trolling for web-cam clients.
The only time I've ever had any luck emailing through LL, is if there is no other way, like a phone number.

I would tend to use this site rather than Leolist and email to ask questions, break the ice, and test for attraction. Sixty three is not too old!

When you say that you'll "try the phone system," I hope you mean that you'll get a smart phone and learn to use it. I don't think you'll get far at this without one these days quite frankly. Also, NEVER use your home landline to contact an SP. You just can't be too careful with all the spammers and scammers out there!

Go to a 7-11 and get a speak out as a hobby phone. Good luck...

CDNVT, I’m in your age group and have also had 3 non-response to text messages in the past few weeks. The “Ladies” in question advertise their ages between 36 and 53. One ad even stated “older men preferred.” It’s very discouraging! Even a quick response saying they’re booked or unavailable would be better than no response. Like some have stated, I don’t think it’s our age, just a symptom of poor lack of etiquette within the industry.

That’s strange about them not responding, perhaps they have changed their contact info and forgot to update their ads? Don’t give up hope, 63 years young is certainly not too old ;)

I am close to the OP's age and am not much for texting. So messaging thru here works for me or Just call BOA or an agency near you. Boa you can call with your phone and Rikki guide you to ....

Choose SP's who require an email vs a phone or text.

Several Indy's and groups like Outlook are email only.

Or like has been said, get a burner phone and join the texting generation.

Contact forms on LL often go to spam folders. You might have better chances of reaching her by emailing/calling/texting directly. LL contact forms can also be turned off on the ladies’ end, I’m not sure if it shows to the client if that feature isn’t enabled.

Make sure to provide the info the lady asks for in her ad (typically your age, name, when you want to meet/for how long and any requested screening info). Be kind and respectful in all correspondence of course.

Other than that there could be a myriad of reasons for not receiving replies like she’s on vacation, didn’t like the cut of your jib, or perhaps has an assistant who screens inquiries and you didn’t pass for whatever reason. Your age isn’t necessarily the reason.

Good luck and have fun!

You're gonna need a cell phone eventually. What if something happens on route and you need to tell her you're running late? Is she supposed to email you her address and buzzer and apr number and all that sensitive info days in advance?

Some sps do social time and you pay like 100 to see her for hh or hr. Its a case by case basis, not all sps do this.

Varies now
My first mobile radio phone, 1974. The pictured unit bolted to the dashboard and the transceiver was the size of a briefcase and mounted to the back wall of the pickup cab and required a roof mount antennae.

You keyed the push-to-talk button on the hand set twice to connect to a mobile operator and asked them to connect you to the number you wanted.

Mobile only in the sense it was in a vehicle.

1970's the 'mobile phones' were car mounted only using MTS first, then IMTS Technology which was a VHF radio riding on top of standard Telco technology. There was no security and everyone could listen to your conversation.

1985 was the first analogue 800 MHz cell phone system in major centres in Canada by Cantel which became Rogers Wireless. It was also insecure but could only hear the caller (if stationary) not the receiver of the call.

Are you providing your email address on the contact form? If not, there is no way for a lady to reply. The contact forms messages do not work like Craigslist . The following is what it states at the bottom of the contact message received - " Please do not reply to this message. This e-mail was sent from an address that cannot accept incoming e-mail."
