Dear Health Nurse,
The other day, I was in a massage parlor where I though all that was on the menu was a HJ, but at some point, the SP put my bare penis in her mouth. I stopped her, and she continued with a HJ.

Now, 2 days before this happened, I got off of a heavy duty antibiotic regimen for the treatment of h. pylori. It was 10 days of Flagyl plus I think Amoxycillin (I'm allergic to penecillin). Does this reduce my chances of getting the usual STIs?

Thank you for your help!

Hi tantalus2

This would not reduce your risk to getting any of the bacterial STI e.g. gonorrhea and chlamydia.

If you are concerned I would just suggest going for an STI test. We normally recommend waiting 2 weeks before going for a test to increase the accuracy of the test. If you get symptoms e.g. discharge, hurts when you pee, sores etc… you should come in straight away.

Since you have been on antibiotics we would recommend that you wait 4-6 weeks before getting a test done. The reason we recommend this is because we think that having antibiotics could interfere with the accuracy of the test result. If you have STI symptoms come in straight away.

Here is a link for more information on STI testing.
