To a degree, I pride myself as punctual. I know that many SPs are annoyed when clients cancel or show up really late because they have schedules and it throws everything off for them.

Well last night I set up an appointment with an SP (I'll withhold the name for now). Her driver showed up horrendously late (about 40 minutes) so the agency calls me and tells me that it's too late, the SP has another client scheduled in a 15-20 minutes, so they're rescheduling me.

A few months ago, I contacted an independant SP, made an appointment. She was a no show. No phone call, no apology, nothing. I called her the next day, her excuse was that she fell asleep (lame excuse), and rescheduled the next day. She was a no show the next day as well. That time, the excuse was a computer crash (she couldn't find my contact number and address). We reschedule a 3rd time, and she does show up, but 4 hours late (I kid you not). Still no apology. And to top it all off, inspite of me keeping a good attitude about it all, I got really crappy service from her.

I'm just annoyed right now, so I'm venting my frustration.

That said, my experience over the last few months with the punctuality of SPs has been pretty disappointing. I've never been late for an appointment, but I've been rescheduled by the agency or SP about 40-50% of the time.

Is my experience typical?

Maybe I've been lucky but generally I haven't had anyone stand me up or been late. It would help everyone if you posted who these SP's are. Sounds like ones that I would avoid if I knew about them.

Sorry about your luck, but maybe stick with the better reviewed ladies on PERB for a while... at least you know what to expect.

There should always be a phone call

There is no excuse to not call and to at the very least apologetic. I will admit, I do tend to run 10 to 15 minutes behind on outcalls. I reckon I do that close to half the time as well - which is a terrible statistic, and an even worse habit. But I ALWAYS call about an hour or so before hand to let them know that this is the case. Anything more than five minutes off desreves a call - and as soon as you know you are going to be late. Not when you are supposed to already be there.

One of the reason why I love my regular playdate is we trust each other so much. We have to only say once ,no matters rain or shine, we will meet on time! ;)
Punctuality is vital ,no matters what business you are in!

In the past,I had experienced a girl who gave me nightmares after nightmares. We booked the date, then I had to re-confirm a night before. An hour before, she called me to postphone to a later time. When I arrived, she said sorry that it was too late for an appointment. BTW I lived in Vancouver and that was an appointment in Victoria!! And my long trip was for nothing.
With this same girl ,the same incidents happened to me at least twice. Am I dom?

All these incidents make no business sense at all. Might be I was not her ideal client?

very few!

Except for a very few!, I find most SP's run on a different time clock than most people. Running 15 -60 minutes late and bad excuses are part of the business :(

Just as a follow up to the situation that spawned my rant here, the agency went to considerable effort to reshedule me with the SP I originally requested (her availability is quite limited) and she did arrive and showed me a very good time. And the agency gave me a discount as well, so hats off to them for putting in the extra effort.

in my experiences, i have found that the ones who show up late typically also have the crappiest service ... so a good indicator of whether to walk or not is punctuality ...

and yes, i know shit happens, but i've never been late for an appointment with an sp and the few times i had to cancel i would call asap to do so ...

the response you got from the agency versus what you got from the indy is one reason why i tend to stick to the agencies and really, really, really take a lot of caution with any indies ...
