Well there are several problems with these kinds of groups:
1) there is always something to fix. So their instructors walk around holier than thou making you feel like you could be a "better" person and that they have all the answers for you.
Fortunately for them we are all inherently flawed - so might as well sign up for the life time membership.
2) Large Group Awareness Training has proved to be generally not that effective in changing people's behavior and belief systems. It is the cattle car approach to helping people - more butts in the seats = more money for them.
Individual guided Coaching is much more effective and a way better use of your money.
3) These groups make their participants fanatics - who then try to recruit every family member and friend within a 100 mile radius.
RUN FOR THE HILLS!

I have tried both - individual programs with an excellent life coach is a much better investment if you are looking to "improve" yourself.
