How many days can a Woman wear the same outfit vs how many months can a man wear the same suit.

Coquitlam Mayor Richard Stewart wore the same suit for 15 months - and nobody noticed. Not one, Nada, Not even his opponents and of course not the Media until he informed them that there was an article right before their eyes.

He wore what he called a "plain, off-the-rack, boring, dark-blue suit" to all public events and council meetings for 15 months straight.

And the reason why? Stewart says he wanted to highlight double standards women in politics face when it comes to appearance.

"I had heard so many of the comments that sometimes happen during elections. I read an article about a journalist in Australia who'd taken a similar action," he told On The Coast guest host Chris Brown.

"Nobody noticed … It became evident to me that nobody was going to notice, that this was not simply something that we remark upon when it comes to male politicians."

What the mayor didn't mention is the gender of the critics - do you think men would criticize a female politician for wearing the same thing day after day?

Men wouldn't give a shit, really...we have better things to do. We'd be happy if the politician does her job and doesn't screw us over.

Beverly Hills. In the Kitchen eatin' vittles.
Another difference is if you go somewhere and another person is wearing the same item of clothing.

If 2 women are for example wearing the same dress it is some kind of a disaster. "Look at that bitch. What the hell is she doing wearing my dress even though she's waaaaaay too fat for it? Take me home right now so I can change."

If 2 guys have the same shirt on it's "Hey man, Nice shirt! Look everyone we're twins." Suddenly you're best friends for the rest of the evening.

Cheers

I don't know any guys (well, hetero ones anyway) that really give a damn what other guys wear, much less themselves.

When a Ferrari goes out onto the F1 track, it does not change its paint scheme for each new race.

i was discussing a similar topic with a frenchman and an italian recently - we were talking about how many pairs of underwear a man needed

the frenchman said, 'seven - monday, tuesday, wednesday, etc.'

the italian said, 'fourteen - monday morning, monday afternoon, tuesday morning, tuesday afternoon, etc. etc.'

me, i said twelve...

I would actually prefer it if someone in a public eye position such as Mayor or TV news anchor etc wore the same clothes every day.
It adds consistency and I like that.
Much like a uniform for many workers.

That is because suits by and large look the same. Women's dress doesn't.

If men didn't wear suits and instead opted for wider wardrobe choices, it would be more noticeable.
