That's pretty crazy. The Ducks already have Niedermayer. The Ducks certainly have quite a defensive minded team now. That Lupol guy is supposed to be quite good. And also traded away first-round choice in 2007, a conditional first-round pick and Anaheim's second-round pick in 2008. That's a lot of bodies for just Pronger the Pooner!

Is this a good trade? Time will tell. Lupul is a great choice, and Smid has great upside potential. Besides, don't forget that the Oilers only had to give up Eric Brewer and a couple of prospects for Pronger, so in that respect it's a fair swap.

Lupul and Smid are both recent 1st rounders plus one 1st rounder in 2007 and a conditional. That is potiential 4 first rounders. That is a pretty good trade. Pronger was fantastic last year and hard to see him go but in the words of Todd the idiot "it is what it is"

nope, the lost game 7 due to a Steve Staois turnover minutes minutes into the game that led to the 1st goal. And inthis series the first goal was so important.
