Professional Pics vs. Selfies vs. Videos

Hey there Loungers,

I'm currently making the arrangements for a sultry new professional photo shoot so I can have some fresh new yummy eye-candy to tempt you men with. I'm just wondering if you gents have any sort of preference when looking through a girls picture portfolio as to what type of picture you prefer? In an age where digitally altered pictures have become the norm, I feel men prefer 'seflies' as they feel like they are a true representation of the provider in question. But is it really enough to snap a few pics in the mirror and rely solely on those? and does having videos or gifs included in their portfolio make a difference in your decision making? Professional shots or glamor shots are valuable for you in that they show that your intentions and attitude towards the biz are just that "professional". Combine them with a decent web site and they help you set your rates. I on the other hand discount the value of the shots and the ability to reveal who you are and how you look. I prefer other types of shots that may paint you in a less glamorous more truthful light.

Agreed. The best quality of a true representation is the best. Girls have no idea how much better an ad sticks out with good photography as opposed to dark/blurry/amateur looking.

Most guy who see an amazing pro photoshoot immediately do a reverse image search.

Pics can be too good, they raise guy's suspicion. And NO girl is going to look as good in person as in a controlled studio with pro stylists and makeup artists.

I agree that a combination of both candid selflies and professional is always ideal, shows that you truly care about your business when you invest in a proper photo-shoot (which trust me is not cheap) while selflies give a more realistic idea.
But really, I never knew there was such a thing as "too good" of a photo-set?! I can understand the scepticism behind it but some simple research always unveils the truth, plus I'm sure you men are smart enough to see the consistency between pictures, or lack there of. Personally, I have had clients who have mistaken my selflies for professional photos since I use my self-timer as opposed to standing in a mirror.

-I guess in the end it all depends how committed you truly are to the industry, who your target market is, and how much of your personality comes across in a photo along with how hot they are.

I think there is no such thing as "too good".

The image speaks to your desired market and alludes to the experience preferred for yourself and your clientele.

The image ideally reflects the medium as well. Selfie's are great on a Perb thread, Twitter or Instagram.

If you're taking requests ... I vote for a .gif of you flipping your marvellous mane.

I agree - once you identify your target market, you can experiment with various styles of photography and marketing strategies, until you figure out what kind of advertising attracts your target market, while repelling clients you're probably not going to be compatible with.

Selfies on the other hand are true and honest......provided they are clear to make out. I've seen selfies where the photos are too dark to see which then become useless.

The type of shots a lady takes can project herself to a certain market. Some may view it as " cheap " etc etc. No rules to having different types of shots in their ads. Combine selfies and 1 or 2 pro shots and that's pretty much it. As long as they are current that is .

I totally agree that once too much air brushing and editing takes place the picture no longer gives an honest representation of the provider in question and can mislead clients, but it's also naive to think that selfies can't be altered to be more flattering as well. Most girls have 3 or 4 photo-shopping apps on their phones that can do everything a professional editor would.

In the end girls are going to do whatever they can to make themselves look as flattering as possible at all times. I just always thought that selfies were more appropriate for twitter or instagram accounts that show your personality, not ads. Ads should be professional and show that you care enough to invest back into your business's advertising with honest and up-to-date pictures.

I think you're spot on with that conclusion though, combine some sexy selfies with some pro-shots and you got yourself a dynamite combination ???

Thanks Celina. Another great point about selfies is that you ladies can take as many up to date photos as you want. Honestly, imho, using the same photos in ads for a long time eventually time becomes " yawning " . Take advantage of free and current tech as they say

Honestly...in my humble opinion...your pic with you going onto the whirlpool is probably the single hottest photograph I have seen of an SP. I had to ban myself from looking at it. Lol so pics with that type of style would be my vote. Hope this helps.

I think a mix of both is better. However, the selfie should be taken with a good camera, in decent lighting. Cell phone cameras are good but not that good. Ideally in a casual setting
