Just telling my personal experience…
In my late fifties..sex at home was sort of ok without condom.
8 years ago i saw my first escort..she was young..very hot..but I could not keep it up with the condom on.
Saw this girl about 2 or 3 more times and same results..
Went to the doctor, and got the usual test for testosterone level stress ect; and ended up getting viagra.
Tried viagra with same girl, and saw 100 % improvement..(rock hard)
I even started using it at home, and the wife has no idea that I use it.
Now I never leave home without it..
I am interested in trying viagra. Always been curious what it would do. I can't see a physician prescribing it to a 38 year old though. I see plenty of ads for black market pills, but that doesn't seem like a very good idea.
They sure will. I've had similar problems with condoms. I'm a bit thicker in girth and most condoms just cut off the circulation and feeling for me. It is hit and miss if I can finish with the condom on. Went to a walk-in clinic in my mid thirties, told the doc I was having problems getting it up, he gave me some samples (Viagara vs. Cialis) and a prescription with very few questions asked.I am interested in trying viagra. They aren't going to call you out and have you prove you can't get it up.
I preferred Viagara. Takes a little more planning because there is like an hour before it really kicks in, but you will get erections like you had in your teens again and maintain it with or without the condom.
You sure the nice lady was an MD?Anyway, suffice it to say, the nice lady Doctor told me I'd probably have a stroke if I took viagra.
Lifestyles SKYNs are polyisoprene and come in two sizes. They're excellent. You should be able to find them at most places where you buy condoms (Safeway Pharmacy for sure, and they're often on sale there too.)Any help with finding where to buy polyisoprene condoms? I also suffer from the desensitizing effects of standard condoms.
Do you think that it's a change/decrease in sensation that's causing you issues, or more of a psychological thing?
If it's primarily a sensory problem, I would look at trying different condoms in different sizes. If you're on the thicker side, standard size condoms are 52 - 53mm and might be too tight around the base, pinching or impacting circulation.
Non-latex condoms can also provide a different sensory experience - polyisoprene transfers body heat better and I've been told it feels much closer to bare. Lifestyles Skyns come in original and large and I think are a really great starting point when experimenting with different condoms.
Female (internal) condoms might also be a very effective solution, as they don't go on you. There's a bit of a learning curve to them - you have to pay attention to make sure that you're thrusting into the condom and not down the side, and most people don't use enough lube initially, which can result in some less than sexy stuff, like a rustling noise. But with loads of lube I've had people tell me that they couldn't feel the condom at all. They have the added bonus of covering more area, and so can be more effective in preventing the transmission of skin-to-skin STIs. They're expensive and a bit awkward, so they're less popular than I think they deserve to be, but there's a lot of places in Winnipeg that you can get them for free. http://www.getsomecondoms.com/clinic-and-condom-finder/ (Nine Circles, Rainbow Resource Centre and Street Connections has them for sure - other places I'd call first.)
If it's more of a psychological issue, maybe just take some performance pressure off yourself by focusing on enjoying other activities as the main course, and PIV sex is a bonus if it happens?
I did not go through the whole thread either but ya put lube on your C%&K and you won't even know you have a rubber on. Make sure the lube is condom safe. I know that this doesn't need to be said but you never know, some guys have bit the bullet because they mixed rubber and petroleum based lube together. Thanks, Regent, I went into Nine Circle, but the receptionist was unable to help me. You just did.
