By the way there were floats in the parade by the CBC, The RCMP and The Canadian Armed forces, not to mention the VPD. Along with just about all of the local fringe groups you could find.
You just may be working for a company that had a float or some other representation in the parade.
The thousands of people lined the entire route, lots of kids!!! Seemed to be having a great time. Most I think were there for the fun.
This is the 21st century, welcome to it. I am glad I have grown up to be a tolerant person who does not go around labeling people and judging them.
Kind of why this parade happens. To open eyes and exposing some to the troubles the gay community faces everyday.

Actually, if it was a Pooners' Pride Parade then it would be US on the floats and waving at the families and kids.We need a pooner's pride day parade. We are the ones who are (mostly) still in the closet.
It would be a sight to see. Float after float of practically naked SPsFamilies with their children can make a fun family day. Maybe we can even get the police to participate in the parade instead of harassing our massage parlors on that one special day

Straight men often feel threatened by gay men. For some reason they feel not only that all women want them (regardless of looks or status), but all gay men also want them. Rest assured that most gay men probably do NOT find most straight men devastatingly attractive.
If a gay man makes an advance towards me I just politely tell him that ' I'm complimented by his interest but MEN just don't float my boat '. That usually puts an end to things in a very civil manner and the conversation go move on towards other subjects.
