The fact that you are asking makes it clear that you already know the answer to your question. Keep thinking with the big head. :ROFLMAO:

If someone insists, buy a $1 prepaid card, then when ghosted, it only cost you a dollar.

or you could just actually follow the provider's screening requirements? if a guy had given me $1 prepaid visa when I was accepting them as deposits, I DEFINITELY would have ghosted him. lol

If the person is legitimate, then yes I agree.
But if a man is certain its a scam, then the $1 is a great way of saying ' I just played the player '. After she wastes her time for a buck, it's the guy getting the last laugh on the scammer, karma is good.

I'm sorry but that aint no screening process. That is a scam. Don't waste your dollar.

Charlee, we love you.. but not good advice.

Same goes for gift card etc. It's a well known scam.

If it's someone with 200 reviews asking for a deposit that's maybe different but I highly doubt that is the situation here.

This same discussion is going on in the Winnipeg area.
Never send money to anyone you do not know unless they are a well known professional.
About half the listings on LL are scammers using fake pictures and demanding transfers in advance.

The question is simply one of trust. I've used this method a number of times to provide an anonymous deposit. If you're confident in the provider, it's a great way to pay a deposit without revealing any self-identifying information.

So, if you have concerns about the provider, don't do it. It's about the provider, not the method of payment.

Also, I'd rather a provider had pictures of a pre-paid card than pictures of my REAL card or any of my banking info!

I'm only surprised about it being just half of them running a scam. My guess would have been 90% of them were. I knew that I was dealing with a scammer one time a few years back, i sent him, pretending to be a her, pictures of my McDonald's gift card with a 46 cent balance left on it. Still makes me smile just thinking about it.

This is why we need to fight for decrim. All this secrecy makes it so dangerous for sex workers, and risky for clients. Before I had a reputation, I had to just...not take deposits. And *really shitty things* happened to me. In a world with decrim sex workers and clients will feel--and be--safer.
