Tampa over New York in five. If there is a sweep this might be it. Tampa is strong in every department.
Boston over Montreal in seven. The heart says Montreal, but the Bruins have the strength - if Thornton stays healthy.
New Jersey over Philadelphia seven. I consider this an upset because Philly is stronger. My money is on Brodeur stealing this one for Jersey.
Ottawa over Toronto in seven. Two evenly-matched teams. Picking Ottawa because Toronto deserves the purgatory they're in a little longer just for being - well, for being Toronto.

Tampa Bay over NY Islanders in 5 (Against any of the other six teams in the east I think TB would probably lose, but I think they can beat NYI)

Montreal over Boston in 7 (Thorton may play but he will be playing hurt, the fact that he sat the final two games while his team was in a close battle for division chapion show his injury isn't insignificant.

Philly over New Jersey in 6 (NJ will really miss the presence and leadership of Scott Steven in the playoffs)

Toronto over Ottawa in 7 (This one is the toughest to call but I think that while Toronto is less talented, they have more grit which will give them a slight edge in the playoffs)
