power receptacles in N america

I just Bought something from NewJersey off ebay. the seller contacts me and say's we don't use the same power as them in canada I have been all over the States and I think we use the same plugs all over North America. Even though I live in a Igloo are Power is the same?

All 110/115 volt outlets are the same in N.A.

Industrial 3-phase outlets are generally 440/460 volts in the USA, while those in most parts of Canada are 575/600 volts.

True, there is a standard NEMA rating for receptacles but only up tp 50A. 50A and over are manufacturer specific. Change the plug to fit your receptacle or vise versa.
