It's called accountability. There's a reason that those communities with regional or city police forces get better policing. The police are accountable. With the feds, they're so far removed that a mayor could rant and rave all he wanted and nothing would change.

Oh the brass would bleat about consultations and engaging with the community, and all that PR nonsense - but nothing would change. The RCMP are immunized from the public that they allegedly serve. I'm very happy to live in a non-RCMP community and respect our local officers and the work that everyone can see them doing every day.

Nobody's on an anti-police rant here. It's about the conduct of one specific force.

I think people also have to factor in that the problems are all over the place. There is only so much man power to go around. Some of these situations they are in have branches and debris everywhere. It's not like it's a nice sunny day fixing a line with a bucket truck.

it was fun. Mine was about 5 hours. Had some buddies without power Saturday night come over. It was like a slumber party.
Looks like a lot of deep puddles on the roads in places. Lots of fresh leaves on the ground

it was difficult to sleep, I was told it was going to be a lot longer to come back on so I was preparing myself for the worst...and it was just too extremely quiet very hard to fall asleep!!! the good thing about me is that my dream/sleeping is entertainment in itself, i don't really need TV/movies or books, my dreams are way better :) but not if its hard to pass out ugh!

The trees were made brittle and weak by the summer drought. That contributed to them being so easily ripped apart and uprooted.
Urban trees don't have a complete root system. The roots are over watered which makes them close to the surface and the roots are chopped away where they endanger drainage, foundations, sidewalks or streets.

Look left. Way left.
always the cheap seats which complain, criticize at the drop of a hat.

someone who actually had to do some work in their lives realizes that organizations cannot always have an instant fix for a once in a blue moon occurrence

with regards to various city law enforcement who utilize RCMP, if you don't like the service you get in your city you have the option of writing a letter to the mayor, writing to your mla, voting at the next election to change things through what is called a democratic process

volunteering to assist with government/community services when they are under budgetary restrictions

I guess the least productive citizen out there is the one who points the finger, most realistic people accommodate the shortfalls our services undergo from time to time and try and find a way to assist

of course if you are Jimmy Pattison and paying huge taxes, maybe you have a right to complain but even he just pitches in and helps or donates as he sees fit.....
Jimmy Pattison paying taxes! Lol.....hilarious!

And a big thank you to the pool heads out there that can't figure out how to deal with a set of lights that aren't functioning. Asswipes in their luxury SUV honking and screaming obscenities at me when I am using proper 4 way stop procedures. Trying to get to work on an emergency call in to try to stop a major incident due to the power outage. Many accidents out there. Most caused by clueless dipshits that should not be driving. aaaarrrrgggghhhh!!!!!!!
