Its been brought to my attention that reviews posted on PERB, are not up to par with reviews posted on other boards. Before we get upset and ask 'how dare they?' Whats the biggest room? The room of.......... I checked out one of these boards...TERB, and found that some of the reviews are very good, and some not.
What i have noticed on TERB is that members are not so quick to use the phrase " Good Review." I don't think members expect to be entertained, but you better have the who, what, were, when, and how in your review, and if there is a hint of shilling, members will be all over you like a fat kid on a Smartie. TERB members are alot more tougher on reviewers than we are here.
Not everyone has the gift or the education to write impressive reviews (like moi.) If i can just spell correctly (discombobulated) i feel i'm doing okay.
So the questions are:
What makes up the prerequisite for an informative review?
Do you want to be entertained with wit and humour, or leave out the sugar, and just tell me what i want know?
What is it you do want to know (or expect) in reviews?
Should reviews be more explicit than they are now?
Any constructive input makes PERB a better board. --- Kev
