Its been brought to my attention that reviews posted on PERB, are not up to par with reviews posted on other boards. Before we get upset and ask 'how dare they?' Whats the biggest room? The room of.......... I checked out one of these boards...TERB, and found that some of the reviews are very good, and some not.

What i have noticed on TERB is that members are not so quick to use the phrase " Good Review." I don't think members expect to be entertained, but you better have the who, what, were, when, and how in your review, and if there is a hint of shilling, members will be all over you like a fat kid on a Smartie. TERB members are alot more tougher on reviewers than we are here.

Not everyone has the gift or the education to write impressive reviews (like moi.) If i can just spell correctly (discombobulated) i feel i'm doing okay.

So the questions are:

What makes up the prerequisite for an informative review?

Do you want to be entertained with wit and humour, or leave out the sugar, and just tell me what i want know?

What is it you do want to know (or expect) in reviews?

Should reviews be more explicit than they are now?

Any constructive input makes PERB a better board. --- Kev

Here is a gushing (but not shill) review of a GFE:
https://terb.cc/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33986

Here`s a moderately positive review of a standard SP:
https://terb.cc/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34269

Obviously I have to reference one of own:
https://terb.cc/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31993

The summary sections near the top takes care of the members who just want to see a service list. For a GFE, I try to focus the text section on describing the feel of the sensation and a bit of the lady`s personality; for a PSE it`s all about which services blew your mind the most (tough to do, as usually entire sections of my brain are burnt out if she`s a real PSE.)

A key point to remember is this isn`t Penthouse/Playboy letters section -- the goal of the text is to describe the session, not brag about one`s own skills.

If you`re posting a negative review (or just not too positive), follow the same format, but just leave out the details rather than attacking the SP. You should only "attack" if you were genuinely ripped off by a B&S or other scam.

Don't you think they're getting a bit too detailed there? A few key points on things most members consider important, but a detailed catalog of hair color, eye color, etc?

The point is a review not a catalog entry!

I want to hear at least 3 different reviews on any given SP due to the YMMV factor. What I want are:

- physical description, and if it matches what she advertises
- attitude, personality
- description of services rendered, but explicitness is not necessary (but fun to read)
- restrictions (if any)
- price
- time spent

Good, educated writing skills will always win me over to a fellow reviewer. A pointless semi-retarded typing style that makes a 7-year-old look like HP Lovecraft that just essentially says "duh, she's so hot" will be skipped over.

What I hate the most is when they write:

"I am not going into details and you got to find out for yourself."

When people write crap like that, there is no point in writing one at all!
There is one exception: some SPs and agencies don't want detailed reviews posted. Some will not only have the board yank unauthorized or too-detailed reviews, they'll blacklist the poster (it's usually pretty easy for an independant to guess who posted a review based on who she's seen lately.)

Though if that's the reasoning for a sparse "review", the poster should just say so to prevent the inevitable flamage about being a rah-rah shill.

The suggested reviews are examples of formats followed by a significant number of Seattle and area gents . . . The narrative/comments allows for individual subjectivity while the vital stats/services speak to the various interests of our world.

The TER/TBD db word-pictures also allow a common basis for evaluation when a word-picture is matched to a score . . . it is difficult to appreciate one persons assessment of L/A/S without a standard for measurement.

Thanx everyone for your input.

I was going to bring up the subject of shilling in this thread (shilling and reviewing go hand in hand) but i see *g* has already started another thread on the subject. --- Kev

Reviews should also include information on the logistics involved. ie. Was the place easy to find? Was parking nearby?, free or pay? Is the place in a residential area? Or close to comercial area? etc. Were showers available? (with/without unscented soap for married guys). Lots of this type of information can be provided without giving away the SP's location or other identifying information.
