There seem to be a lot of inquiries as to whether girls on CL or ERS have pimps? What are your experiences with "pimps" and how can you tell if a girl has one if she doesnt immediately tell you that? I 'm guessing that how they operated has changed with the internet in place. Info? Comments?

I always thought a pimp was someone who took all your money. He takes all yourt money and pays your rent, bills and buys you stuff. WITH YOUR MONEY that you GIVE to him. I have heard of girls getting beat up by their pimp when they do not bring home enough money at the end of the night!

Long answer: Technically by law any person 'living off the avails of prostitution' could be arrested for trafficking. However as we all know the laws aren't as clear as they could be and there's a lot of grey area. This includes agency owners, booking agents, whatever, even though the women who work with these people usually do so of their own accord. Traditional pimping is still an issue and it is harder to notice/crack down on now with the wonderful world of the internet.

I remember reading about pimping in Halifax recently and how most of it there is generational. Daddy's a pimp, Grand daddy's a pimp, and so on. Lots of pimps still around.
