This is probably directed more towards the ladies on this site. Guys can post some constructive criticism as well.. I'm newly single, I've never really had to pickup girls before.. They've always sort of....just...happened? Anyway..

So long story short, was at the beach today with some buddies. We're all laying there soaking up the sun and chatting about clubs, when this girl behind us (who was actually pretty decent looking) commented on the club we were talking about.

So we all chatted for a few minutes about it, shared a couple laughs, then the convo naturally diminished and we all went back to soaking up the sun.

About 20 minutes later, we notice she has 2 friends with her. One asian (very cute) and another caucasian, also from what I could see was decent looking..

(Note: Way before they even got there we were discussing amongst ourselves what time we were going to leave, this was about 4 o'clock)

So I hear one of them say quite audibly "what time do you guys wanna leave?"
(this was about 4:15 or so)

I lean over to my friend and say "dude, I should say they should leave when we leave"

He tells me to go for it but I think "wait, I might get slapped for that because they might think I mean leave with us and go back home with us.."

So I chicken out, and dont say anything.

So should I have said it anyway? To keep it a little interesting, if they had asked why they should leave when we leave, I'd probably say something like "so then we can discuss what we're all gonna do tonight"
Insinuating that we'd all be getting together for drinks, or go to a club together or something..

It could have also gone bad and I could have just gotten the "ew disgusting" look from them all..

So what do ya guys think? I didnt say anything in fear of it becoming extremely awkward/them thinking I was some sort of creep..

Having never gotten any sort of "vibe" or "signals" that females supposedly give off when they're interested, I just know this would never work for me. Then again, nothing would. But if you're good looking (which you must be if things always "just happened" for you), I'm sure there's a decent chance you could've convinced them to meet up.

I would have figured out a place to go with the guys (some place where you can get drinks and appies), and then said to the girls "hey, we're going to head off to ____ in a little bit, do you want to come?" or something like that. The key is to just be confident, don't use a line, don't worry about whether they'll say no, and show interest without coming on too strong.

Yeah but I really wanna know if the whole "me jumping in outta nowhere cause I overheard them discussing when they wanna leave" is inappropriate and not creepy :p

If you hadn't been talking with them earlier, then it'd be creepy, but since you were, I think it'd be just fine. They may shoot you down, but I doubt they'd think you were being creepy.

Keith seriously - would you please stop with this depressing defeatist attitude? You make it seem like you're the worlds ugliest man with warts all over his face. I sincerely doubt that's the case, so why keep beating yourself up?

Well, I'm not a freak or anything. I actually used to think I was handsome. But when you've never experienced even the smallest iota of success, you try to come up with answers. I just know there has to be something about my face that's turning women off. If not, then what is?

It's your attitude!
Wrong! If I always had this attitude, surely I never would have had females who considered me their good friend. It's true. I've had girls who thought I was such a great guy and who would share the most intimate details of their lives with me. But it never resulted in anything physical. Why? Because they weren't physically attracted to me. It had nothing to do with attitude, and there was nothing I could do that would've made them feel differently about me.

How old are you, by the way? Could be you're a late bloomer. For some guys, it happens later; it's easier to feel defeatist and unsuccessful with girls when you're young, before anything has even happened.

Keith, maybe you can create your own thread?
No kidding hey.

You might get turned down, its anyones guess. But I don't think you would have come off as creepy,
Oh well too late now :D

A good looking girl at the beach initiated a 20 minute conversation with you.
Yeah she probably thought you were a creep

Being the nice guy / friend was just one tactic I employed before I became jaded. I've also tried being the badboy, the smooth pickup artist type, and everything else you could think of. It didn't matter what I did; I never got any results.

Now I don't even bother talking to girls. If they're not going to fuck me, they can just fuck off.

To Quote the great one and the michael scott paper company:

You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take.

Who cares if they think ew disgusting, you'll probably never see them again anyway. I would have tried it or......

Thatotherguy is correct...

drinks and appies would be a suggestion...

once there, the courtly gesture of offering to buy the ladies a drink would be in order...

something along the lines of...

what will it be, a gin and platonic or a scotch and sofa:cool:...
