this just tells me it is all one big public relations and symbolic game in the end rather than the principle of laws and evidence...In addition, Pickton's name will go on the (short) list of people (such as Olson, Bernardo) that no parole board will risk releasing because of the immense political backlash.
and common sense...
i would hope that olson, bernardo and pickton are never paroled on the basis that they committed heinous crimes and they present a danger to society...
it's nice to know that parole boards concern themselves with political backlash and let that govern their reasoning...
my sense is, when the smoke settles, pickton will spend the rest of his life behind bars...
what a surprise...
1st degree, 2nd degree, jaywalking, gaps in evidence, was there a compromise, etc. etc. etc...
kind of like a discussion of how many angels you can put on the head of a pin...
