Honestly for a federal politician who has been around for years and years I think it indicates a certain amount of laziness.
Or indecisiveness. In other words, it may well be that he had not anticipated running for political office again. Only a short time ago he would not have been considered the favorite in the race he has entered, or that there even would have been a race until some years into the future. His running for this job is likely substantially motivated by the opportunity presented.

I am of the mind to support Coldwave below. Peter McKay was part of the no pay for sex law, and I was always concerned that he either fell under Harper's power to do that, or was part of it. The whole thing was a retribution to the prostitutes out of Toronto who beat Harper in the Supreme Court. I would suspect that this law would be thrown out too though if it ever gets there. As it is the police seem to be practicing minimal enforcement of it for fear that they may lose it on a broad scale. It is a useful law in some instances. But among consenting adults, it is a violation of our freedom of movement and self esteem. Like who in this country gets sex without some kind of a financial involvement. Dowries are still a fact of life, getting married to become a citizen or immigrant, still happens, supper before or after a roll in the hay still goes on. A strong enforcement of this law would have both men and women in priest and nun mode across this country. And really it is not a practicle law for adults, it is a religious thing, and Harper is religious. McKay??

Well said Newatit! McKay wasn’t just a Harper puppet on this draconian freedom-crushing law, he was the prime instagator. Hope he gets roasted and the Conservatives realize they need to become much more moderate and respectful of our wonderfully diverse Canadian values to stand a chance in the next elections. McKay is Harper 2.0 in my books, and he’s gotta go before he ruins things, again.

Isn’t MCKay the fucker that brought in the current fascist socialist bullshit pooning laws? I hate governments telling us how we should live our lives. Hope you go down like those fucktards Harper and Sheer. McKay is enema #1 in my books!
Yes but thankfully an Ontario Judge shot a lot of it down as unconstitutional this week. Hopefully they'll get thrown out and McKay along with them.
