Peter MacKay Must Resign

Like Phreak I feel schocked by the stupidity of our Minister of Injustice and Insecurity. I did email McKay and other MPs in April to protest his dumb plan but Summerbreeze makes in clear why that was futile and the cynical guy is playing the local re-election in Central Nova game.

Though Summerbreeze says passing parliament seems unlikely, it is possible. We need to contact every MP possible to make sure they realize how dangerous this bill is. Takes only a few moments to send the message. Do your duty. Save the SCC's precious time so the court does not have to waste weeks to show it unconstitutional again.

Too bad the Taliban rockets missed McKay near Kandahar in Nov 2007. Lucky for the Canadian Forces that Mckay is no longer in charge of bungling Defence policy.

I think the bill will receive constitutional arguments in the house of commons and will require amendment before it can pass. MacKay knows this but will be popular for the voters for his attempt at moral high ground opposed to practical realities.

This way he maintains his popularity with the right wing conservatives and doesn't get blamed for a more practical bill getting passed. Its a political game, but one which needs to be played if you are going to last or succeed in that area.

I could well be wrong, but this is what I think.....
