No question, he's quite exceptional in many aspects.

But it doesn't diminish any of your or my accomplishments either. Having said that, if you feel like you haven't made the most of your life, the only way to change that is to take control.

And between all of that, we'll just talk shit on an escort review board.

That is impressive, very impressive.

Bear in mind he has made a lot of sacrifices to acheive all that. He probably does not spend a lot of time relaxing.

While impressive by normal standards, his resume seems a bit light compared to other astronauts.

I feel a bit inadequate whenever the Olympics come on. You see these 15-18yrs kids doing above-average-human feats and it makes you question yourself..

I say use it as drive and then go out and achieve things :p

Be careful what you wish for. Many Olympic athletes have a very tough transition from be obsessed by a single goal to "now what the fuck do I do with my life" once their athletic career is over.

I've seen that in Rodeo competitors.......They go too Vegas, and win the World Championships.
They become living legends at a very young age.....and beat up and broken with major life long injuries.....and at 30 they don't know what is left.
They have already been at the height of their brief career, and the focus was sometimes at a very high cost.
I know of one world champion living behind a ranch house ,in a chicken coop....He is honoured in Cowboy circles, but if some knew how desolate his private life really is, they would rethink being a professional Rodeo Cowboy.

That's why they need families and a 'second life'. It's also the reason why a guy like Jagr is still playing in the NHL. He's single, unmarried, and undeterred by blackmail attempts from 20 year old models :pound:

I think it is more important to be well rounded.
Does he have any true friends.
Hobbies.
Own a home.
Have a dog.
Go boating or golfing etc regularly.

I am sure now it may seem great to him.
But oneday he will be 50 and look back on his life with many regrets I bet.
To me, his life looks like a train wreck.
Just glad its not me living like that.

This is incredulous... I don't even know where to begin.
