Passed Away - Brooks Robinson and Dick Butkus in the past week.

Both Legends. I grew up watching them play (Baltimore) (Chicago).
Growing up in the North East US, I was lucky enough to see them both play live. Shea Stadium for the Jets\Chicago and Yankee Stadium for Yankees\Baltimore.
They dominated their positions when they played.

It is a sad day.

Never enjoyed US football but always liked the name Butkus!

Played quite high caliber baseball in my youth and was a big of the orioles during that era.
Robinson was an amazing on the field. Good memories of that team.

Grew up watching Butkus and Gale Sayers leading the Bears. In those days it was the Packers and Bears.

Both totally different players at their positions. One finesse and the other ultra violent.

I recall a poster with Butkus beat up to hell and steam coming off his body waiting for the next play. Offensive lineman probably quaking in their boots as to what’s happening next.
