I think they have a plate registration system now linked to your players card. I actually enjoy the casino on the weekends, has a decent atmosphere.

That's the point, their entire business model is you go in and lose your money, yet they still choose to make you pay for parking. Think about how dumb you have to be to do that.
If you are a bit of a regular, customer service will tag your licence plate as "free parking".
The place is indeed sterile and wastes a lot of space on the third floor.

Also the apartment monthly rents downtown are outrageous... maybe folks are too tapped to gamble?

Interesting that Cascades in Langley is expanding.... recently added lots of square footage to slots.
Hard to see how a reasonably friendly and not too bad, but small, place like Elements in Cloverdale keeps going.

Parq Casino cost over 400 mil to build. Of this investment the current interest to be paid is 112 mil.

However Parq generates about 170 mil in revenue and operation costs about 150 mil. so roughly 20 mil operating margin.

To put in perspective all of GCG(competitors) 5 casinos generate about 260 mil. So Parq alone generates more than half that. Also to compare 2017 Edgewater revenue was 168 mil.
