i have a trip to van planned and will be taking the motorbike ... Q for any riders out there is how to handle parking ... I would like to go to Granville Island (maybe catch some of the acts Vanman recommended) and know that most of it requires a parking stub ...

but there's no place on a bike to put one and i really don't want my bike towed by some pimple-brained moron ...

so is there a good place to park the bike or do i buy and ticket and hope not to get towed?

and what about places like Robson with the parking meters? I've seen bikers park between the cars at meters -- is this safe? or is it ticket and tow what is left after the 'bumper cars' get done with my ride?

thanks

What I do........

I park my bike as if it was my car.....right in the middle of a metered street spot, slightly angled, nose out....we pay more than a car for plates and insurance, and are entitled to full use of the roads etc.....haven't had a problem yet...and I park on Robson all the time. As far as Granville Island is concerned, here's their phone number and web site...which has a PDF map....
Another idea for Granville Island is to give Carter Honda a call at 604-736-4547. They're right at the entrance to Granville Island and have a big parking lot.....James is the bike service manager and his assistant is a sweet lady by the name of Shannen....maybe in exchange for a latte, they'll let you park there...or maybe a pretty please'll do it...
Good luck LG..... :)

My pleasure.....

If you're into a sweet easy twisty ride for lunch at Horsehoe Bay anytime during the week, send me a PM and we can talk about it......it's a couple of hours of pure west coast pleasure, eating included....
