Went to the Woods Pub on Brunette in Maillardville (Coquitlam).
Fairly busy, not a lot of open seats but opened up by about 1:15 so ample space for a PA meeting.
Atmosphere - neighbourhood pub, waaaaay brighter than the Drake, also a lot lower sound volume. Has a separate smoking section.
Food - good menu, daily specials, burgers, pizza, steak sand, etc, etc. Had a mini beef dip (gooood) and a sleeve of Rickards Red - tab $11.12 + tip. Looks like a good selection of liquids as well.
Talked with waitress, asked about busy / not busy days. Told me today was less busy than a usual Friday. Also says that Wednesdays and Thursdays are the least busy days of the week (afternoons).
Noted a sign on wall -- Bring your team in, 6 or more in team uniform and receive a 10% discount on your bill. Only applicable Sun-Thurs. Anyone want to organize "Team PA" sweatshirts to go along with Paige's track pants? LOL
Lots of parking so no problem that way. Noted a sushi restaurant
next door if Woods menu not suitable, hehe.
Also in close proximity is awning with "Ultimate Shiatsu" sign. Think it was closed down by city council.
Still to scout and report - French Quarter, Rhino's and John B in Coquitlam, Barnet in Port Moody (dancers). Anyone care to join me?? If so, send me a PM.
