Finally - a Canadian-produced program with some dry wit and real humour. No, I'm not talking about Mike Bullard (is anyone?). It's a little show on CTV called Corner Gas. Vancouver's Brent Butt is the star and producer and, even though it's set in Sask has an all Vancouver cast. It's a bit formulaic, and the characters are somewhat Canadian cliche, but it has a droll feel that's grows on you. I think it's on Wednesday night. More in keeping with this board there are two hot babes on the show, too. The police woman and the cafe operator.

Have you guys forgotten about Kids In The Hall already? To this day, that show still leaves me laughing until my colon ruptures.

I heard that Trailer Park Boys is quite good, and becoming well-received down in the States.
And Mike Bullard is an assclown.

I think if you get past the preceptions that we all held from the seeing things', 'king of kensington' days there is some good Canadian TV out there -- DaVinci's, Corner Gas, Cold Squad.

Cold Squad has done some cool episodes. Especially the ones with the cop Len Harper who is addicted to strippers and hookers but is working hard to keep his marriage together.

Let's not forget SCTV. If only they had a budget to get that crane shot. Remember the Guy with the Snake on his Face?

SCTV

Poor Johnny LaRue. Only got to use one camera and one microphone.

I used to think Made in Canada was the best Canadian comedy since SCTV, but now it's cancelled, I really like Trailer Park Boys. Their new season starts next month, I think. Haven't checked out Corner Gas yet, but I will. Thanks for the recommendation.

While I have only see it once, the second episode, it's the best Canadian made sitcom I have ever seen. I would say while Corner Gas is not as sexual and explicit as Puppets Who Kill, it is damn good show.

After watching Street Legal, who would have thought that Eric Peterson could be so hilarious?

Let's hope Corner Gas gets a long run.

How about the Hilarious House of Frightenstein - that show has quite a cult following now, and rightly so. It was brilliant for its time! Too bad the master tapes were destroyed because those shows would likely be out on DVD by now.

All of the episodes of the Hilarious House of Frightenstein was made in a few months, many years ago. Billy Van didn't have any scripts for an entire show. Instead the different segments were taped and later editted to create each episode.

Vincent Price travelled to Hamilton and taped all of his appearances in a couple of weeks. Apparently he only met the rest of the cast once or twice.

The castles are growing dim, there is no one left but me and him...

Trust me, I'm not pimping Corner Gas, but this week's episode about the town's big dirty hoe was hilarious.

The character Karen (I think she's a cop) is played by Tara Spencer-Nairn, who starred as Betty in the massage-parlour movie Rub N Tug.
