I disagree with both these picks. lol

I think kesler is among the top (not the best) two way players in the league when healthy.
Unfortunately, he hasnt been healthy.
Does that make him over rated?
I don't think so because it's obvious that he hasn't been healthy.
No one is talking about him in the Selke discussion anymore.

I always hear that Hansen is such a great third liner.
He isn't. He's a very good one tho.
The best third liners are tougher, bigger, grinders who chip in offensively about the same as hansen.

Hansen has speed, is a good checker,good in the corners, does a lot of good things, but cannot seem to score.

I agree with Hoops in that Kesler has been slowed by serious injuries the last 2 seasons,resulting in decreased performance.
I don't think that makes him over-rated, fragile maybe,not over-rated,imo.

Pfft I personally try to limit my contact with BOTH. I find the majority of my family intolerable and social media is a joke, I actually set up my fb account as a joke but it seems to have exploded with people adding me from all over the damn place (I stopped approving those ads years ago)

... finding your family intolerable doesn't change the significance of it

I have to respectfully disagree here. I think the 70's punk scene has received it's fair share of recognition, at least in my circle. And you are honestly going to sit here and call U2 underrated? Really? Referred to as the biggest band in the world, or something to that effect, isn't enough recognition? And did U2 do anything really NEW? Not quite. Nirvana pioneered a whole new genre on the world stage.

my post was meant to be somewhat contentious. success, lol.
my intention was to identify the 80's as a decade greater than the 90's; i include U2 as an exemplary 80's band of greatness. there were many others.
(U2 aren't overrated. rated accurately.)

a lot of people really cherish nirvana. i get it.
if you heard nirvana's music today, for the first time, and didn't know that they were "great", you'd think they sucked.
(same for the smiths, neil young, joni mitchell, etc etc)

ps. let's have fun with this topic, not get upset.

OMG I love Joni Mitchell and she was wayyyyyyyy before my time. I think we have very different taste, I think U2 is highly overrated. They did nothing better or different than REM yet somehow they're regarded as the "best evaaaarrr".

I also love Leonard Cohen too, I suppose you don't like him either.

U2 - one bass player and one lead guitarist plus drums.

Go watch/listen to "It's gonna get loud" with Edge, Jimmy Page and Jack White. You might find out how much Edge brings to the band. Pure genius with guitars and amps. U2 wouldn't be where they are without Edge and Bono's songs.

Beatles are the Gold Standard that every band is compared to and there are none better because they set the bar high for every other band.
