I'm confused Ms. Sexy Sexy. I thought you didn't trust and you didn't like the main stream media. Oprah is as mainstream as it gets. Is the difference that Oprah is allowing a group you agree with to promote their movie but other mainstream media are critical of groups you agree with?

ok I've never seen the "secret", but here's my best guess...

Have a goal, think about what you want instead of what you don't want - like attracts like. Have passions for your goals - I mean real passion - in this way you will attain your goals - you have to want with every single fibre in your body, from the moment you get up to the moment you go to sleep.

Believe in yourself 110%, you can do anything you want with your life - anything - the only person between you and what you want in your life is you.

Treat everyone kindly and with respect, show compassion, treat people the way you want to be treated.

"The Law of Attraction"

This sounds like the law of attraction. A local guy on the island has written
a best selling book by the title above. He also gives seminars all over
Canada & the States. The premise is that you focus on what you want,
instead of focusing on what you don't want. The most difficult part of the
process is "allowing" it to happen. But affirmations alone don't work. This
law works on your vibrational energy (positive or negative).

Have you noticed how some people that we know that we consider
"lucky bastards" are actually practicing this law (but without giving it
a name)? They seem to always get the "perfect" job. Attract the right
mates. Always seem to land the right opportunity. They have been
secretly practicing the LOA without knowing it!

You probably heard of him, the author of the book is Michael Loisier.
His book is soft cover & very affordable. Very user friendly but following
the LOA is not easy! Always easier to believe in the negative. But the
beauty of LOA is that when you practice it, you never really know how
your goals will be achieved. LIfe works in mysterious ways, I tell you.

Practice, practice, & practice until you get it right. Of course easier
said than done. LOL.

Great topic.. I have seen "The Secret" and read many alternative books.. I am not saying that I buy into all of it, but there are definately some recurring themes that I think have merit. One of the most important is "Think of what you want, not what you don't want". Speaking for myself, I always dwell on what I don't want and then am surprised when I get it. I have changed my way of thinking, and it feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. It works......

The woman who wrote this book only first discovered it 2 years ago how does she even know it works? Maybe the real secret is writing a best seller that makes you a big pile of money.

Huh! - if only by inference… your positive side just gave us “nay-sayers” a not so subtle… less than secretive, slam

So, “the Secret” is…. you can create/change your own reality – simply by thinking positively. That’s it – so simple – an instant fix… another (New Age) panacea for the masses! Just think positively, let the “Law of Attraction” take hold and everything falls into place. Forget about the real world and the myriad of external influences that none of us have control over – just think positively!

Just abandon rationalizing your position against the complexities of life’s social influences, ignore the realities of advantaged peoples and world cruelties, forget about the global economy… just think positively!

It seems “the Secret” doesn’t accept critical thinking or shrewd judgment within it’s toolset – being critical is soooo negative, so unspiritual. Better to live in a fantasy world than develop critical thinking that just might… just might… be able to interpret “the Secret” for what it really is --- a glossy packaged manipulating infomercial that stands to make it’s originators very rich.
