Opening up

Hey Vanessa, you may not have noticed that this thread is about re-opening some businesses that were closed due to the corona virus.
(And it is in the "Covid-19" section.)
My comment has nothing to do with people dying all over the world for numerous different reasons.

And you might not have noticed that this thread is about "opening up', not an opportunity for you to present yourself as a saint or to come in here to shame others. Or maybe I am being "selfish" for not waiting for this pandemic to end before I get a pedicure. :eyeroll:

I find this ironic --- there are hundreds of people fighting for their life due to the corona virus, and some of them don't survive their fight,
but some of your biggest worries are not being able to get pedicures, manicures or massages.
And there’s many more people who need medical care for other serious issues who have to wait because we stopped the world for a virus that may actually have a very low death rate.

But who knows what the death rate actually is?! There’s been quite an effort put into muddying the waters for that data. I don’t even know what to think anymore.

How many people will die waiting for medical treatments? Or from being thrown into lower socioeconomic status? Or suicide because they can’t bear the stress of losing everything and can’t support their families?

Cardiovascular disease and diabetes rank high on death stats, long before Covid-19. The food industry is partly to blame for this. Where is the outrage? Yet fast food joints have been deemed “essential services” what a fucking joke...

I sure saw a lot of outrage on social media recently because Adele lost weight. What the fuck is wrong with the world? Taking measures to improve ones health is now deemed politically incorrect and offensive

Absolutely agree. I've got a daughter on a waiting list for a surgery that is critical to her well being. She's been waiting for two years and they put her and very one else on hold over this.

I have been a member on Perb for 12 years, and during that time I have never engaged in a verbal duel with any lady on here,
and I am not about to start now.
So, have a nice day, and keep smiling.

In everyone’s opinion are massage places allowed to be open tomorrow?
There’s a few around town that will be open tomorrow and over the long weekend.
Thanks

I’m going to wait too. It’s impossible to avoid transmission if you’re going to be close enough to enjoy. I’ll wait until there have been no new cases for at least 4 weeks.
Don't you mean it's "impossible" to get away from wifey these days? :) Or you are in the high risk age group, or have underlying health problems that could cause complications. I've been banging an escort a week like I have always done, including a Naughty America porn star a couple of weeks ago. I live alone (never been a better time for that), and I'm well below the at risk age. And if/when the many non-Asian FS studios open up again in Edmonton, I'll be there too.

No.
1. It is AFTER the long weekend
2. They or their industry need reopening plans approved by WorkSafeBC
(also a friend of mine who is a health inspector with VCH said inspectors will be visiting many many businesses to check up on them)

Even hairdressers are in the limbo of reopening as of now because their governing body (hairdressers association) has not submitted the reopening plan.

PPE needs to be in their plans along with no waiting area, appointments only, etc.
Interesting to see what it will look like.

Watched a documentary about Casino reopening plans -
Physical barrier on blackjack tables (only 3 players allowed per table vs. 8? normally), every other slot machines turned off, etc.

interesting time to say the least.
but we will get back strong (entire economy-wise) hopefully sooner than later

Now that the province has issued the opening up of the economy, massage parlours will be allowed to open again. They need a safety protocol but it looks that the massage places will reopen soon. How does everyone feel about returning?
Maybe I'm seeing things, but isn't The Lounge a Canada wide discussion group? So why the reference to a particular "province", in this case BC? - which I deduced from the comments. Next time specify the province, or post in one of the BC sections. Or better yet, post about Canada in general on this page.

Ok so these spas that are opening today or on the weekend aren’t supposed to be?

Tiger spas ads are confusing as they mention “please call from May 15 for appointments”

This discussion originated in the Victoria BC forum section but was moved to the Lounge's Covid 19 section a couple days later

Opening is supposed to occur on the 19th, after the long weekend but some may be taking appointments in lieu of that.

we have consulted worksafe, environmental health and the city. opening guidelines have been developed with the safty of workers and clients in mind.

we do NOT have final approval but we are close.

everyone cross your fingers and as soon as i have a final answer.... (some additions to opening guidelines are being given by the above authority figures) .....

i will post here with all the details and the guidelines.

love susie

update;

we are still waiting for final approval and are set to have a virtual meeting this week with those in authority. we have developed detailed guidelines for re-opening as safely as possible and in the meantime if people would like to know more please feel free to contact me and we can discuss.

once i have approval and a final version of the "guidelines" i will post them here.

i want to wait to make them fully public but also want to help people meet the worksafe expectations for individual business plans if they plan to open tomorrow.

so, i am around until 1 am cleaning in my little shop if people want to discuss. pm me here or send me an email;

susan.1968@hotmail.com or call/ text me 604-671-2345

also, i would say that it is appropriate for PERB to open it's advertising section again as the "order to close" all personal services has been lifted across the entire province.

https://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/h...t_personal_services_covid-19_may_15_final.pdf

i am sure that many operators and workers have contacted worksafebc and created their plans already. i know everyone is ready to get back to work.

thank you to everyone for doing such an amazing job and contributing to the effort to stop the spread.

the key now for everyone, clients and providers, is to not work if you are sick, not visit a provider if you are sick and to STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK!!

i will post the full guidelines as soon as possible.

love susie
