Just to immortalize it, my prediction is that OnlyFans will be a fraction of what it was, or non-existent, inside of two years after this change is made in October.

They're catering to higher profile girls (celebs, actresses, instagram girls etc) who get subscribers even if they only post suggestive or sexy content only. Imagine 100,000 famous popular accounts versus 5,000,000 so so unknown accounts, creating content.. easier to manage, likely similar revenue, specially when platform is more cleaned up and more of those girls who think it's beneath them would also sign up.

OnlyFans has run into its own issues with underage performers. Since the site doesn’t independently verify its sex workers’ ages, it’s fairly easy for people to lie. In late May, a BBC investigation revealed that a 14-year-old girl had been able to register an account as a performer on OnlyFans using her grandmother's passport. Yes, I saw that the article stated that no illegal content was linked and I included that in my quote. What I found disturbing was what he was promoting, so obviously targeting a certain "market".

As Electra pointed out above, there are still other venues to sell one's online wares. And Chaturbate/MFC are still a thing (how and why, I have no idea because it's not like there are still questionably aged and/or overall trafficked girls on there also). More well-represented providers have their own website to trade Skype addresses. Even Twitch if you like PG-13, tamer, softcore content.

Onlyfans wasn't the end-all-be-all of online services, just a popular, organized, and well-packaged format to sell their adult content.

Maybe once similar restrictions are placed on all possible venues that sell online content, providers will start going back to their "offline" venture.

Only fans changed their terms not because they liked to, not because they wanted to attract more investors, but because they were forced to by Mastercard which will requires (starting October 1st) that they verify all users and all content (including live streams) before they are posted (or while they happen) and only fans decided this was too costly for them.
I suspect most site accepting MasterCards will face the same problem soon.

And this is all consequence of that New York Times opinion piece that led to pornhub changing model last year.
