Has anyone played online poker for REAL money - Your bank account/CC?

I got my friend to hook me up with his CC and I will give him a % of my earnings.

So far im up $14 profit. I know it's not much but it is my first experience and I am only starting at $10 just to get the feeling and see how it is.

Im playing at FullTiltPoker.

Anyone else play for real money online or has done so in the past? If so are you still playing it as of today? If you did play in the past but got out; why did you leave?

Cheers!

I've gone to this site i've posted and they give out free no deposit bonuses ranging from 25.00-100.00. It might help you with your bankroll build. I've been playing for 5 yrs or so and never left the game. Still occassionally play a major tourny or cash game online. But found it extremely hard to sit there for hours on end playing. I play the game while im at work and dont put in the hours as much as i use too. I choose the redkings site cause i like their graphics and they gave me 25.00 upfront to play with plus another 25.00 pending if i make point requirements:)

been playing on-line for cash for about the past 6-7 years. Started playing on UltimateBet.com but found there wasn't enough tourney's and games when I wanted to play. Won/cashed in a few tourneys so cashed out up a few dimes.

Switched to Party Poker mainly due to the traffic as it was the largest site at the time and could not win in the cash games to save my life but kept afloat playing tourneys and cashing. When the US internet gaming law came about, Party Poker lost most of its players and the games when to shit.

Opened 2 accounts after that... 1 on Poker Stars and 1 on Full Tilt.

Pokerstars has been my favorite site because they seemed to pick up all the traffic from Party Poker. The software is probably the best on the internet and they have some good promotions. The thing I like about Poker Stars is you can find any game, any time for pretty much any stakes. I really like the deepstack tourneys and the ones with regular blinds. (10-30 minutes depending on the stakes) From a security standpoint, they really take their stuff seriously as I have logged into my account on more than one occasion to find funds I didn't know I had. Apparantly, they had cracked down on some players who were colluding during tournaments or cash games and basically divided the $$$ in their accounts to everyone they had played with (the amounts were based on time played with these players). What a nice surprise it was to find a few hundred bucks in my account that I had assumed was gone forever.

Full Tilt has decent software (I like Pokerstars better though) and a decent # of players. Their buy-ins are different than Pokerstars and most of the tourney's are turbo so the blinds go up real fast and it becomes a "Push-Fest" real early on. If I want do that, I may has well cut cards for my buy-in.

Some sites I want to try in the future are spadeclub.com (might be spadesclub.com) which you pay a membership fee but all the tourneys are free. Doylesroom.com has some good promo's and some interesting tourneys. So does cakepoker.com but I think their software is not as good.

Hope that helps.

I have accounts at Party Poker, Full Tilt, and PokerStars. I started at Party Poker back when it was the biggest site but once they kicked out all the American players the site really slowed down. I still have about $500 in my account there so I still play 1 table sit & gos and cash games once in awhile, but it isn't that great for big tournaments. I don't use my Full Tilt account much either. Mostly when I play, I play at PokerStars, lots of players (over 194,000 as I type this) there so its easy to find a huge selection of tournaments, sit and gos and cash games.

I haven't actually made a deposit in over 3 years, just a few withdrawls since I make more than I lose.

I have been playing for years as well.
What I am really into right now are these "double or nothing" tourneys.
Basically a tournament, 10 players...top 5 double their money.
Shorthanded goes 6 to 3.

I really like them, because if you are conservative you are in the money well over 50% of the time. I have played several hundred tourneys and am over 70%.

I like these better then the ones the top 3 get paid. With them I find there is always a few people that play really loose, but one of them takes out the other idiots then he has a huge stack. Sometimes if you play properly, you chipstack is just too small to get back into it.

party poker....used to play, dont like game buy in amounts
poker stars...is the site i play, but there is some loose play..if you remeber to wait most players knock themselves out(sit n goes).you can expect to lose alot on the river though.
full tilt.....never like the graphics.
tiger gaming.....the dealer is /was harsh ,river was very brutal.

heres a site you can check out apponents ...its a great site to see who your playing and wether they win or loose..it gives plus minus stats.

I find this to be a better site, it gets a more complete record of tournaments, plus its free. Sharkscope gives a very basic player history but more in depth searches cost money. Also I've searched players on both and in some cases sharkscope missed hundreds of tournaments for that player making the results very inaccurate.

Wow thanks for all the info and stuff. I haven't had the chance to do any tournys yet. I don't really like the tournaments. They take forever. I usally like doing tables because if I am starting to do bad at one time or if the dealer is being a jerk I can just always switch into another table.

Right now I am only doing .5 and .10 blinds lmfao. I will being going up when I start to win more and bigger pots.

For those who play at FullTiltPoker do you know how to cash out?

Do you need to set up a bank account online or paypal or something and you just transfer the money in or can you get them to mail or what??

any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

It depends on how you deposited money into your account in the first place. If you used a VISA you can have them credit money back to the card you used (doesn't work with Mastercard). If you transfered money directly from your bank account you can have them deposit the money back into your account. You had to have made a deposit from a particular account before they will allow you to withdrawal money to that account. There are some other payment processing methods but I don't remember what they are.

You can also have them send you a cheque no matter what deposit method you used, but I'm pretty sure the minimum amount they'll issue a cheque for is $100, so if your account is still under that you won't be able to use that method.

I don't use Fulltilt often so I haven't done a withdrawal there in a long time. I did a withdrawal from PokerStars a few weeks ago and I had the cheque within 3 business days. Let me know how FullTilt is for processing withdrawals.

Actually since you have used a friends credit card it will be a pain in the ass to cash out. I don't use fulltilt. But most online gambling sites whether its poker or sport....NEVER USE A CREDIT CARD.

What happens when you use a credit card....they have no problem taking your deposit instantly. However when you want to withdraw it gets nasty.

They will want a scanned copy of the front and back of the credit card, they will want a scanned copy of the front and back of your friends drivers license or some other photo id, and they might even want a scanned copy of something like his hydro bill to prove where he lives.

Most gambling sites have many ways to fund. I only use places that have INSTADEBIT. Its the best. Its basically the same as using your bank account to pay bills. When you cash out they mail you a cheque.

I used a credit card (MasterCard) to make my initial deposits and I've never had a problem cashing out. However I used my own credit card with my name on it. Trying to get them to issue a cheque in a different name than the one on the credit card could be a pain.

PokerStars uses a Vancouver based company with a Canadian bank account(Western Bank of Canada) through which they issue cheques to Canadian players. When I request funds I usually get a cheque in a few business days. They've never asked me for any information other than to confirm that my contact information is still accurate. Never been asked for a copy of my CC, Drivers License, any bills, etc.

I agree i've had a experience with a site where they where a pain in the ass cashing out if you used a cc to fund your account. Transferring money with my bank account to moneybookers/neteller or some other way is the best.

Well its happened to me at least twice, so I just avoid cc deposits.

As for Kevin is you do have problems getting your money out, and your friend doesn't want to share that much of his personal information with the site you are using. There is another method I use to get my funds.
I call it flipping accounts.

I would set up a new account at that site, fund it with a non-credit card method. Then play against your old account. Most sites let you set up private tables.

Just play yourself head to head, and lose all your money to your new account. :D
