Yeah, it's an escort board, but I have to ask because there are all kinds of people on the board. Some, being gamerz!
Today I bought hubby Halo 3 Limited Edition. He hasn't seen that I bought it yet. I'm wondering, did anybody else pick it up today and have ya had the chance to play it yet? Are the graphics as good as they say?

CJ, I'm not much of a gamer these days...just the odd PC game, but from reading reviews, it is simply amazing. It got a 9.5 review on gamespot. Rated: Superb!

I need time and a xbox 360 first...

You know what, Halo is good. Halo 2 was better, and I'm sure 3 will beat out 2... but Halo isn't the best shoot em up FPS/3PS out there. However, they do have the most money and power to throw into the game, so that accounts for alot.

There was a ridiculously cool concept game called "Guns: Online" or something like that. Basically, you could choose any one of say 8 characters (gun priest, very cool). You could pull all sorts of matrix like moves while firing off your hand guns, or machine guns, or throwing grenades...and when you ran out of bullets, or wanted to get up close and personal...you had knives or swords with power moves.

The 3d combat element of the game (literally, super jumps, wall running, climing, rolling, wall flips etc) totally broke the mold for me... Halo just seems way too restrictive and unimaginative.

I would be playing the game right now, if the 360 I bought didn't die after two days. Damn #@%# Microsoft!!! I'm just going to have to wait it out till the get their act together. LDs no questions asked return policy saved the day, otherwise I'd be waiting for it come back for MS.

(But there is a bonus, being there will be lots of used copies of Halo 3 to be found in a couple of months...)

As for the hype, Halo 3 is just like any other good trilogy, you've got to look at like it is a movie. The buzz is no different then the hype surrounding Bourne, Star Wars, or any other film franchise.

Just wait Shogun. GTA and Metal Gear are coming...

In a true FPS gamer's perspective the Halo games with the forever recharging shield is basically an FPS on EASYMODE. all you have to do is take your time hide and get good killing blows and you've got it made. also for a brand new game that has been in the works for so many years the graphics are hardly impressive at all.

well calgary jenn, might i suggest you pick up the second controller and play with your hubby? then you can get all the value out of the game! and i'm sure he would love that, even if you don't know what your doing. lol :)

For 360... Half Life 2 (Orange box) is released in early October and COD4 that is released in November. If interested in multiplayer (XBOX LIVE) look at Call of Duty 4. I am in the beta for Call of Duty 4 and it is a fantastic game. The beta on live is more fun as a beta than Halo3 multiplayer is as a finished product IMO.

There are many different games that come with that one box. Most are very popular. The company is also well known for making great games. For value the Orange box is going to be very hard to beat. If in doubt wait for the reviews once the game is released.

lol, funnily enough i had an SP come over to my place one night, and she saw my PS2 and wanted to play. we ended up playing some games before doing the ding dong dance. lol true GFE
